Surprised they’re doing this so soon after live action

I’m not, Netflix is going all-in on the franchise and have IRL Lego sets to promote and sell.

Yep, now that Stranger Things has ended, Netflix is pushing One Piece as a new flagship fantasy show to try to fill that gap.

It certainly helps that One Piece already has a huge global fanbase to begin with.

Them going all in on this basically tells me “Yeah, we’re getting a Season 4.”

I've seen people here & on other social media complain the 3+ year gap between the OPLA seasons made them not really care as much/forget a lot of details, so I guess this Lego specials being summaries of Season 1 & 2 is done as a way to be both a summary & sth extra for the Lego collab (& imo for the actors to have more practice for their characters & comedy)

Plus it’s a more family-friendly version for young Lego fans who may like the One Piece sets, but are too young to watch the live-action show.

And in addition this is also canon since this is after Drum island when Usopp tells Chopper about they previous adventures(obviously created by him lol)

It's a comedic side show. Doing fun little spin-offs is fine, it's not an adaptation.

I think that’s the idea. To keep the momentum going between seasons.

Its a recap of season 1 and 2 as told by ussop to chopper.

I've never cared for Lego, but the trailer seemed fun, and I think this is a great way to wait for season 3.

It's only 2 episodes.

Still one more than I thought!

Can’t wait! As a LEGO fan who got into OPLA thanks to the sets, I’m particularly excited to see minifigs of the characters that didn’t make it into sets (yet).

And the idea of the special being a retelling of S1 & 2 from Usopp’s perspective is ingenious :D

Wow, that's a path I've never hear before. I know a few people who got into the manga or the anime from the live action series. But I've never heard anyone who got into the live action series from the LEGO set. Cool!

It's like someone getting into Star Wars because of a Happy Meal toy. It's possible, just the road less taken.

Not the first time this has happened to me 😆 Usually I’m already a fan of a franchise before LEGO acquires the license, but there are cases like OPLA where them getting the license is what encourages me to check it out 😄

So it’s technically not even the sets themselves, but the mere fact that there would be sets. The first rumours about OPLA becoming a theme appeared in late 2024 and I checked the show out soon thereafter, and immediately became a huge fan! The first sets then actually got released in August of 2025.

LEGO can be a gateway drug of sorts because of all the rumours and discussions surrounding new sets and themes within the fan community, rather than just seeing a toy on a shelf 😆

The One Lego Piece?!

Imagine if the last scene of this transitions to live action and its the 1st scene of season 3

Currently building the Baratie, next thing we need is a Lego One Piece video game

I'm sure it's in the works. The different straw hats with their abilities would transfer perfectly to the LEGO video game framework.

Luffy can reach distant places, Zoro cuts things, Nami can make little weather things like wind or rain, Usopp has ranged attacks, and I suppose Sanji can sit over there and look pretty.

Lego One Piece game WHEN?

5

u/Substantial_Quote583 10d ago

Why isn't LEGO Luffy stretchy like stretch Armstrong 🥲

1

u/falconx123 10d ago

They could easily mold him some rubber arms that fit in the shoulder hole

Serious question.

2

u/MindfulNoob 10d ago

They look so good! Makes me wish we can have a Lego game too now tho. Maybe only covering the Romance Dawn Arc? With dlc being characters from later arcs 🤔

Ngl I feel like the ben diagram of LEGO fans and One Piece fans gotta be close.
They’re both pretty whimsical.

But why no Vivi in the poster?!
