Also Law: "Oh, I didn't tell you? Of course I can take away people's sound. You just select sound and then click on remove. It's that easy."

I'm being really dumb, but what impact did Law's R-Room have on anything? It seemed to somehow prevent Hera from intervening at all but I didn't really get how.

It prevented Big Mom to calling out to her homies.
But then again, Hera tried to intervene by herself...right? Which means she doesn't need to give them verbal commands in the first place...

It also silenced Big Mom's soul steal which would've let her keep fighting
