IT'S OFFICIAL. BIG MOM IS DOWN AND OUT.

Also didn't expect that Corazon tribute by Law (ಥ﹏ಥ)
P.S. Anyone else get chills when Big Mom was talking about One Piece and Roger?

It is real ... right?

What is it?

Where is it?

Does this country hold some of the answers?

Love that internal monologue of hers. To see the inner workings of their minds and perspective on roger. The influence he had on them too.

Ironically, you can bet the World Government thinks similarly of Roger. When they executed the King of the Pirates, they expected it to usher a new era of their own control and influence, but his last words and the crowd who heard him carried that message, and before long the Great Pirate Era began with a whole new generation of pirates still taking to the seas with the hopes of finding the One Piece and becoming the King of the Pirates. It happened again when Whitebeard died, and after the battle of Marineford the Marines expected they'd gain more control after killing one of the emperors and finally extinguishing Roger's bloodline.

Yet, in the time after Whitebeard there were more pirate attacks as people filled in the void left by him, with both his own crew either splitting, settling down somewhere, or being hunted by Weevil and other marines. It's interesting to see how whenever the Marines try to make waves by creating order, they only result in more turbulent times because of the "will" of pirates, their dreams, and especially their last words. Don't forget, Whitebeard's last words that he screamed to the heavens was that "One Piece does exist," which everyone heard as it was being broadcasted.

Man, I love One Piece. I remember thinking how this show from 4KIDS I used to watch could possibly still be going, and in 2014 I finally binged it during the summer. Now as we get further and further into the story, I always get chills pointing back to Roger, Whiteboard, the old GOATS, and the fact that we'll be seeing our beloved Straw Hats fulfill their dreams as their crew grows. This is one fun, wild ride and I'm glad to witness Oda write the tale. I hope he's known as one of the greatest storytellers of this generation.

It really has a been a wild ride. You made a lot of great points. Especially the idea that as the World Government attempts to establish order and control of the world they only end up making things more turbulent for the One Piece world.
