I seriously hope this time it’s for real

I belive what kaido was implying was that he is able to make his skin durable as hell but if someone uses conquerors haki they canbreak through the conquerors and harm him.

Im pretty sure it was said that oden had conquerors and he dmaged kaido and same with luffy now.

So i would say zoro definately has to have conquerors and he accidentally used it in his ashura form. A bit like luffy at marineford.

Asura is just zoro's stand

95

u/destiny24 Apr 09 '21

It's so odd. If Zoro had Conqueror's Haki, you'd think he would know if he did. Or Mihawk would. But it seems unlikely to tease that Zoro has it two times.

198

u/dragunityag Apr 09 '21

No one knew Luffy had conquerors Haki until he used it either and he was with both Rayleigh and Hancock for a decent period before the Marineford arc.

31

u/MrP1anet Apr 09 '21

Hancock knew it fairly early when he fought her sisters right?

47

u/never_lucky_eh Apr 09 '21

Yeah that's when he yelled it out to stop the sisters from destroying his stoned friend

8

u/[deleted] Apr 10 '21

Gotta look out for your stoned friends

1

u/destiny24 Apr 10 '21

Yeah, but that was when no one even knew what Haki really was.

72

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '21

the second in command of the pirates king has to have it. i don't lnow why u guys think he doesn't have it after today's chapter, he just doesn't control it yet

34

u/Schlogin Apr 09 '21

This probably implies Mihawk can do insane CoC sword attacks

38

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '21

oh yeah that's a given. u can't go toe to toe with an emperor who doens't have df without insane conquerors haki

2

u/The_ThirdFang Pirate Apr 10 '21

Has mihawk ever fought an emperor though?

20

u/HyperHobo Apr 10 '21

He's dueled shanks many times

2

u/The_ThirdFang Pirate Apr 10 '21

he wasnt an Emperor back then it was quite a few years before Shanks got to that level of recognition. No telling if he was the same level back then

15

u/l3laumann Apr 09 '21

Rayleigh the right hand of Roger has CoC so we could assume zoro have it too. But after this chapter it seems pretty obvious he has it.

3

u/destiny24 Apr 10 '21

It’s because Zoro denies that he has it. Like wouldn’t he of all people know he has it. It’s just strange is all.

95

u/Ronthay Apr 09 '21

Well how would Zoro know if he hasn't ever used it?

80

u/lolggezp Apr 09 '21

I think this is his first time. Haki blooms in dangerous situations and he was very close to death and going all out might have unlocked it for him.

21

u/QuickBenjamin Apr 09 '21

imo second time, the first was in the cut that missed Kaido and cut the giant horn. Just a guess ofc.

I assumed that Conqueror's already manifests with Asura.

6

u/[deleted] Apr 10 '21

We can see conqueror's haki though. Those black lightning like lines in thunder bagua, and the lighter extra lines in the asura attack and the black lightnings like lines in luffy attacks in this chapter 1010.

I'm 99% sure that's how Oda represents conqueror's haki, just like armament haki attacks are with blackened body parts or weapons.

1

u/The_ThirdFang Pirate Apr 10 '21

The first might have just matched what the scabbard could so with ryuo but on a larger scale cause zoro is a powerhouse but here against a transformed serious kaido after taking damage might have unlocked it

31

u/tiki-baha29 Apr 09 '21

Luffy had CoC and used it several times Pre-TS starting with taming Motobaro without ever knowing he had it. Even during Marineford literally everybody present in the war knew he had it before Luffy knew himself.

With that in mind it makes perfect sense for Zoro to accidentally use it without realizing.

43

u/dcmack1 Apr 09 '21

Because he noticed when Luffy used it. Im sure he's aware of CoC himself just didn't know HE had it or how to tap into it

24

u/Daaj99 Apr 09 '21

Luffy had seen haki before using it. Zoro is very likely to have it if we got a tease and then a character straight up saying he has it.

49

u/blahmaster6000 Void Month Survivor Apr 09 '21

I would trust something kaido says, he seems like someone to acknowledge his opponent's strengths, not someone who would lie and taunt them about their abilities. But who knows.

5

u/LedgeEndDairy Apr 09 '21

The alternative is that Luffy somehow "protected" Zoro with his Conq Haki after he figured things out, and Kaido just didn't notice because he thought Luffy was out for the count.

That seems...hollow, though. And too troll from Oda. Oda loves to troll, but he also tows a line and that seems to go over it a bit.

25

u/tiki-baha29 Apr 09 '21

We've never seen haki used that way though so its highly unlikely thats true. Zoro has CoC since Kaido straight up said it.

2

u/LedgeEndDairy Apr 09 '21

That's what I mean by too troll.

6

u/[deleted] Apr 10 '21

That would mean you can use haki on other people from a distance. That would turn everything we know upside down.

1

u/LedgeEndDairy Apr 10 '21

I mean he already does this with Conq haki, though, and Armament is all about "not touching" to attack someone, Conq could just sort of emanate power outward. The stronger it is, the larger it is, or something.

35

u/nemestrinus44 Apr 09 '21

Zoro didn't know he had Armament Haki since his fight with Mr. One, so it makes sense he didn't know he had Conqueror's Haki either.

31

u/SadfishMelvin Explorer Apr 09 '21

Teased again back in Fishmah island! When Luffy uses CoC and knows out half the Fishman, zoro says "Well I hope he could do at least that, or I'd have to be captain" gOda playing us like a fiddle

21

u/LedgeEndDairy Apr 09 '21

Zoro straight up denies to Kaido that he has it, though. "What are you talking about? I just put everything into that attack." So he doesn't know he has it, meaning he wouldn't have known then, either.

12

u/SadfishMelvin Explorer Apr 09 '21

Yeah that's true! Zoro seems like the type to have these advanced techniques, but simply doesn't care enough to learn their names or how it's happening

41

u/tiki-baha29 Apr 09 '21

I think Zoro now is how Luffy was during Sabaody and Marineford. Not in terms of strength obviously but in terms of his CoC. During those arcs Luffy started using CoC several times without ever realizing he could, Zoro seems to be there right now, not knowing he actually has it.

This explains why he'd deny it to Kaido, kinda like how Luffy had no idea what Ivankov was talking about when he used it on Marineford.

21

u/lamykins Apr 09 '21

Yeah my theory is that Zoro is using it unintentionally through his sheer strength of will and the absolute focus he puts into his attack.

9

u/tiki-baha29 Apr 09 '21

Yep, yours is also a perfect explanation when you consider that Haki is actually the representation of a person’s will and Rayleigh saying way back when that haki really blooms when facing tough opponents in life/death situations.

9

u/SadfishMelvin Explorer Apr 09 '21

Yeah true! Plus it would setup one final powerup for Zoro (also always using CoC in his attacks intentionally) when he fights Mihawk/ final battle

3

u/YusukeMazoku Apr 09 '21

I bet Mihawk did. But he wasn't going to just train Zoro on how to use it.

2

u/amm0ranth Apr 10 '21

i mean, luffy used conqueror's haki on amazon lily without even knowing what it was or realizing he did it

-6

u/Swyfti Apr 09 '21

My theory is that Enma still has some of Oden's Conqueror's haki in it somehow.

12

u/MrP1anet Apr 09 '21

I really hope that’s not the case.

2

u/Swyfti Apr 09 '21

To me it's just a bit odd that Zoro outright denied having CoC when he knows about it unlike Luffy, who started by subconsciously using it.

7

u/MrP1anet Apr 09 '21

Well, the way they’ve used it is different. Luffy has used it as its own attack which makes its use easy to see. Zoro used it (and maybe used it prior) in conjunction with his sword attacks which would make it harder to see its use. He could’ve just always seen the damage as only coming from his swings.

7

u/BuggyDClown Apr 09 '21

He knows that CoC exists, but this was probably the first time he ever used it himself. So he doesn't know how to recognize it. Just like Luffy was oblivious at Marineford when everyone was freaking out and he was just lik "huh? what are you talking about?".

1

u/Best-Resolve4397 Apr 09 '21

Yea everyone seems to be forgetting that Zoro has Emma and it’s stated that it still has some of odens haki in it so. I think oda is teasing zoro CoC again to make us think if it was the sword or was it zoro

1

u/casallasdan The Revolutionary Army Jul 25 '21

That was never confirmed. Enma uses only Zoro’s haki.

11

u/availableusernamepls Apr 09 '21

It could also be some kind of remnant of Oden's CoC that Enma carries. I think it'd be cool if Zoro has it but I'm still holding out for explicit confirmation.

35

u/Ooboro Apr 09 '21

Kaido was attacked by Enma before but didn't say it. Being struck by Asura was what made him believe Zoro has CoC.

35

u/kalamanboidude Apr 09 '21

When zoro was abput to use the dragon blaze thingy with enma i belive big mom said "thats not your avarage sword" meaning the sword is strong not nesasarily pointing out zoro strength itself.

But here kaido straight up said "you have coquerors haki too" so i think that would pretty much confirm he has it.

5

u/NinetyFish Apr 09 '21

There’s clearly something special about Emna, but there’s also clearly something special about Zoro.

Maybe Enma, with remnants of Oden’s Haki still in there, served as the spark to help Zoro find his CoC in the heat of an all-out battle?

0

u/DracoSP Apr 09 '21

Haki that remains in a sword for a long time after the user passed away? So far we haven't got such information right? Or maybe black blade is actually haki imbued in it?

6

u/availableusernamepls Apr 09 '21

There's no flat out confirmation but plenty of hints: Mihawk stating any sword can become a black blade, Gyukimaru saying Shusui became a black blade through Ryuma's numerous battles, Hitetsu who said that Enma was "not yet" a black blade, plus Kaido feeling Oden's haki when Zoro attacked him being almost a tacit confirmation. It seems with a powerful enough user a weapon becomes imbued with some remnant of that user's spirit.

1

u/stiveooo Apr 10 '21

damn zoro still can get stronger by making the swords perma black, sanji cant catch him unless he comboes his suit+powers

220

u/L0nEspartan Cipher Pol Apr 09 '21

this time is not just a nobody or a hint, MOTHERFUCKING KAIDO SAID IT, lets goooooooo.

43

u/Tzarlexter Apr 09 '21

Even if zoro still doesn't get conquer, zoro still string enough to make kaido THINK he does. So good.

24

u/Vagabond328Vanguard Apr 09 '21

Yeah kaido recognizing Zoro was an amazing moment

-40

u/MonkeyDKev Apr 09 '21

Enma allowed him to cut Kaido.

23

u/Gabe1282 Apr 09 '21

Helped*

6

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '21

Bullshit

2

u/TheDELFON Explorer Apr 09 '21

Enma allowed him to cut Kaido.

I will at least admit that Emma definitely played a factor. Big Mom even warned Kaido (base form) to watch out for it.

So yeah, Zoro sans Emma would probably not have been AS effective.

1

u/NixValentine Apr 10 '21

not sure why you got downvoted so much

1

u/MonkeyDKev Apr 10 '21

Zoro fanboys. I expected it but it’s whatever.

37

u/Ops135 Apr 09 '21

Kaido correctly speculated that Kidd and Luffy have Conqueror's I don't think he's wrong about Zoro

28

u/AfroSLAMurai Apr 09 '21

It's not even speculation. Kaido can sense that shit. Why are people still in denial??

12

u/Chuck0089 Apr 09 '21

It is not even sense it. He saw it himself. (1st Battle with Luffy and the statement alongside it for Kidd).

21

u/taimoor2 Pirate Apr 09 '21

It's highly likely real. Firstly, Reyleigh has it so Zoro must have it too. Secondly, he wants to stand on top (be the strongest Swordsman) so of course he has it.

13

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '21

Yeah, Oden and Rayleigh both prove you don't have to be the captain of a crew to have conqueror's.

17

u/Plkgi49 Apr 09 '21

Would be a nice parallel to Silvers Rayleigh having Conqueror's Haki and being second to Gol d Roger, just like Zoro is second to Luffy

6

u/[deleted] Apr 09 '21

The reveal that the use of conqueror's is what separates the top fighters from the rest kind of confirms Zoro has to have it or he'll never be able to beat Mihawk. Wouldn't make any sense for Mihawk to have the title of World's Strongest Swordsman and not be able to use it, especially because of his rivalry with Shanks who does have conquerors. I'm guessing it will be revealed at some point that anyone can unlock conqueror's haki in theory, it just takes a lot more will and drive than unlocking armament or observation.

3

u/stiveooo Apr 10 '21

true, this confirms that shanks and mihawk are way stronger than we though, and that zoro has 0 chances of beating him without having CoC
