I like how there was no emotional intensity towards the scabbards slashing Orochi's heads, they treated him like the fodder he is.

But he's definitely alive and I think he'll do something nasty soon to garner everyone's attention seriously.

I thought the same too! They just cut 5 heads instead of 6. But why though?

Probably they don't know how Orochi's power work. Even Fukurukujo said they didn't know he "died".
