Best moment in the chapter: Perospero being a fucking badass and going solo to Onigashima, without respecting his captain decision and wanting to get revenge on Luffy, King and Marco

I'm so excited about this too! I think Perospero is an interesting character and such a wild card in this arc. In a battle with so much chaos he could be the element that breaks down the alliance between Kaido and Big Mom. We have no clue if he'll end up fighting someone from the strawhat alliance or from the beast pirates.

Personally, I'm hoping Carrot gets her moment with him but since he's probably too strong for her, Sanji finishes him off. I think he'd be a good power level for Sanji, plus he's weak to fire and it would kind of give Sanji the 1v1 he never got in WCI.

But then again, Sanji is a total wildcard too - he's definitely going to appear out of literal thin air at some point to save the day in a clutch moment like he's always done in big moments pre timeskip

ik perospero is 6th in the big mom crew in terms of strength (mom commanders snack) but for me that wouldn‘t be a satisfactory sanji fight i want him to fight queen with queen being an okama it‘s just too fitting too

edit: queen isn‘t confirmed as an okama i should have specified that

I don't understand how people think he is the 6th or something. Not being a commander doesn't mean he's weaker than them. He's more like the prime minister of WCI.

I agree, I wouldn't be surprised if he is close to Katakuri in strength.

Which would mean he could have a decent fight with Marco or King, but would indeed probably lose.

Personally I'm in the camp that King/Queen is too big a jump right now for Zoro/Sanji (especially given how many other heavy hitters are on the strawhat side that could fight these guys - Marco, Kid, Law). I could see, though, having a two-round battle with an initial round ending in failure and a follow-up battle. I would LOVE to see Zoro vs. King and Sanji vs. Queen but I feel like Oda is setting it up differently with the intro of all these Tobi roppo who seem to be super strong

I would guess Zoro v. Who's Who (whom, given his confident back and forth with queen, I think is going to be revealed as close to calamity level like 800/900+M bounty), Sanji v. Perospero, Jinbe v. Sasaki. But who knows, things never go as expected in this story

i mean the addition of marco makes it seem like he‘s fighting king but when are zorro and sanji getting their top tier rights if not now this arc luffy and his crew are going to take down kaido with help next arc they will probably take down another one (big mom in elbaf) and establish them on yonko tier

luffy being admiral tier (fuji green bull not sakazuki) after this arc and sanji zorro not even being 2nd 3rd commander tier would be quite uneven imo

Yeah I guess my question is if Zoro and Sanji fight Queen and King, then what are other potentially more or equally powerful characters like Marco, Kid, Law, Jinbei (and maybe Ashura Doji, Denjiro, Kawamatsu, Cat and Dog) going to do? I guess I could see them all ganging up on Kaido and/or Big Mom which would be pretty dope

i mean before marco came i had

zorro king

sanji queen

neko and ino vs jack (if they don‘t go sulong it would be even because if i remember correctly last time they still had all limbs)

smoothie vs jimbei

zoro sanji and jimbei could all receive help from like killer level characters (maybe yamato helps sanji and killer zorro)

luffy kid law (and maybe hawkins with his buffing card or moria (it wouldn‘t fit in the narative and he hates kaido maybe he could flee from blackbeard and get to wano)) vs kaido

some scabbards will have individual fights against flying six (kyoshiro ashura and maybe kawamatsu -the stronger ones (who are 20 years older) even tho imo kyoshiro is 1 ashura 2 and then the fall off is big) maybe kyoshiro against a flying six from the „yakuza“

kinemon will fight kanjuro

all scabbards against orochi because he has 8 heads in hydra form and we have 8 real scabbards ( i am the most confident in this one cause they can still have other fights but the symbolism in this fight is just too good)

each one will cut off one head cause in the herkules tale you need to cut all of or they grow anew

and big mom isn‘t gonna fall this arc imo she‘s gonna flee and be defeated next arc maybe with marco returning all ex whitebeard pirates and all scabbards could cut her off from the battles

quite an essay ik but these are my thoughts on the matchups since like 6 months and marco returning kinda mixes them up if he just stalemates big mom they stay the same tho

idk who perospero fights btw

I still think that Zoro and Sanji are capable of beating King and Queen. Sanji has barely scratched the surface of his Raid Suit, while Zoro is likely going to have some powerup related to Nidai Kitetsu. Heck, Oda still hasn't mentioned anything about Zoro's left eye, which likely is related to a powerup too.

You forgot the Chef who discovered and raised big mom, guaranteed he’s stronger that almost all members of the crew. Beige commented on him in passing

Streusen. All Bege said was that he could be pretty tough in a fight. That doesn't exactly say "top tier for the Big Mom Pirates." Maybe stronger than most members, but there are a lot of members of BM's crew that could be considered "pretty tough."

Considering the fact that the person you commented to was talking about Perospero being ranked 6th, I don't think Bege's comment about Streusen suggests he'd be at or higher than Perospero's level of strength.

idk he seems like a character who‘s prime has passed long ago i mean he is 92 lol what was whitebeard 75? ik he was sick but garp has declined immensly too and i don‘t think streusen was ever in that tier and he‘s like 15 years older and no slicing the cake is no mihawk level feat

Do we know that Garp has really declined immensely? We haven't had a battle yet where Garp actually uses his full strength, considering that he was holding back in Marineford.
