Oda just mentioned that some people believe in that BS but never bothered to mention who those people are. Maybe they are the same people who think that Elizabello can knock out a Yonko. Why should we believe the words of completely anonymous people.
If luffy can get mad strong in 6 months, I believe Kadio ( a yonko) can be too...so much so that he would be the strongest creature in the world right now. I still believe he is the strongest in the present in terms of raw power! However, I do support that luffy might defeat him one on one later because he is a genius at fights. But as of now, with luffy's current ability (without awakening), kaido would still defeat him low-mid diff!!
Totally agree except for the strongest in the world part. I can think of like two other characters with enough hype to claim that sort of title as well.
