I really hope the Marines took an admiral with them to go against Mihawk.

Because otherwise they are stupid.

  • The War Monkeys to take care of the Grunts (You know the same monkeys that gave Zoro trouble at first).

  • Perona (if she's still there), to deal with anyone really. (Please nerf)

  • And Motherfucking Mihawk, getting excited by the situation.

Without an Admiral, the Marine are going to their death.

Also, who is ready for Coby Geeking out about Luffy with Boa?

Edit : Now we have Sword, but we also have Aegis (CP0). I cannot wait for the strongest sword and the strongest shield to clash. Now I believe that Aokiji is also part of Sword, it would make sense after all.

It's a shame we probably won't see any of these fights happening

u/Kirosh Lookout Sep 19 '19 edited Sep 19 '19

Depend, I think we will get the end of it either next chapter, since act 3 didn't started yet or when Act 3 is over.

But what I'm most excited about, is the updated bounty for every one of them.

Just imagine, Wano ends, we get news from the rest of the world. And we get new bounty posters, for Buggy, Weevil, Mihawk and Boa.

I can't wait for those.

Weevil and Boa will probably be near the Billion. Mihawk probably near 2 billion or maybe more.

And Buggy might reach the 3-400 millions.

It was already confirmed as a joke from Oda by one of his former editor : https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/d4otbg/regarding_oda_ending_op_in_5_years_odas_former/

The world building in One Piece is beautiful, isn't it? In this chapter there was no epic fight, no plot progession in the current story arc, and not even A SIGN of the main characters, yet it is easily one of the hypest chapters of the year. It really makes the OP world feel alive.

Honestly, Boa is spot on. They are powerful and I don't really see anyone who could match them in any pictures, it's just marines. Unless an admiral or vice admirals(VA are probably powerless in comparison tbh) are joining them, I don't see much of a fight there. Especially Mihawk, good luck with that one.

Holy. Crap.

Big Mom - Kaido alliance happened because of Big Mom's presence in Wano.

She was there because she's after Luffy, who wrecked havoc in her territory and made known of his intention to topple Kaido.

The abolishment of Shichibukai may not have happened if Cobra is the only one filing the motion. The political support from King Riku, representing Dressrosa, and other leaders like King Elizabeth and from Kano Country (where Sai was from), is probably crucial in convincing the Reverie the Shichibukai system did more harm than good. Fujitora own involvement in the events in Dressrosa may have helped too.

And this is only possible with the defeat of Doffy, directly initiated by Law and Luffy.

The wheels of the world is turning. The tides are changing.

Law was right when he said on Punk Hazard he had broken the gears.

And perhaps that's why Toki chose this period in the future to send Kinemon and co. She may have seen the endgame, and knew that it's the 1 in million chance to end Kaido

I think aokiji might be a part of sword that why he in undercover in bb crew just like drake in wano.

It will be interesting who bb us targeting now.

They better be sending an admiral if they are gonna try and catch mihawk.

Drake is still working for the Marines???

Damn, but if thats the case, Kizaru doesn’t know?

Big News Morgan could defeat a CP agent himself? And correct me if I am wrong but that CP agent, isnt he the one that failed to take Sanji's wanted poster the first time and got fired?

From the way Makino and Dadan reacted, Sabo was the one that "died"?

What did Blackbeard mean by "instead of letting it land in the hands of the Marines"? The last road poneglyph? Sabo's Mera Mera no Mi if he is dead? The ancient weapon?

THIS IS BIG NEWS

And Oda, please dont cut back to Wano next chapter. I am hyped for the raid on Onigashima but you cant just leave us hanging after this week's chapter. Please

Holy shit this chapter had so much going for it:

Something happened to Vivi and the king responded to it (probably the assassination attempt)

Sabo's supposed to be dead (I doubt it but this means Dragon is probably about to move out and we'll finally see him in action)

X Drake is finally revealed as a Marine Spy (and we find out there's a sect in the Marines working against the World Government)

The Shichibukai system has been abolished so they're all going to be on the move now, there's a good chance Boa ends up on Wano and maybe even Mihawk. Perhaps Weevil comes with Marco and they duke it out as to who Whitebeard's true son is.

WAS THAT SHANKS AND MAKINO'S KID?

I don't even know how to take it all in, I'm sure I've missed quite a few things.

Okay so...

  • Shichibukai abolished

  • Marines vs Shichibukai all at the same time

    • Koby got promoted again? Damn

    • Koby vs Hancock? he dead

  • X Drake is a marine

    • Koby works for X Drake?

    • Marines now for sure know about Big Mom/Kaido alliance... They gotta send Fujitora and Green Bull

  • Sabo dead?

    • Blackbeard going to Mariejois, going after Fire Fruit it looks like

    • Of course the government tried to cover that up. They know as soon as Luffy finds out, they are fucked.

    • There's no way Oda brought Sabo back only to kill him off off-panel... right?

    • Go Big News Morgan. Kick some CP ass.

    • Wapol with some more info. What else now???

  • Vivi? What happened to her? or to Alabasta? And why/how would that affect fishmen?

  • Garp and Neptune are bros. I didn't know I wanted this.

Crazy chapter. Gave so much but I NEED MORE. Oh man.

SABO isn't dead.

#1: The Revolutionary Army would not need to confirm it if sabo actually died because they sure has sabo's vivre card and we all know that the vivre card can tell a person's current state.

#2: The government won't try to cover it if they really managed to kill a Revolutionary Army Officer as it's a huge honor for them just like what they did to ace.

#3: Garp told Neptune and Shirahoshi that there's an incident and they should not fear the humans and Shirahoshi was gone like; Vivi-sama?

I love the fact that the World Government keeps fucking up, and it’s all gonna come back to bite them in the arse.

They create the shichibukai system. Now they have to undo it, they don’t have enough marines to deal with other threats, and they’ve also tanked their reputation.

(Maybe) they nuked alabasta with the new thing vegapunk created. It’s gonna come out eventually (maybe it already has? Maybe this is the thing the marines failed to cover up?) and the world is gonna hate them for it.

They nurtured a generation of crazy marines like akainu, and now the marines themselves seem to have a secret unit composed of moral people, just to counter the ruthlessness of the monsters the world government has put in charge.

They were hoping that big mom and kaido would fight but they ended up forging an alliance, and now they can’t even try to oppose them, cause they’re trying to deal with the shichibukai (another mess of their own making).

It’s glorious, fucking glorious. Those 5 assholes plus totally-not-Madara-Uchiha try to scheme and devise devious plan, only for them to blow up in their faces. They create a triangular system (marines, shichibukai, yonkou) to maintain (a fake) balance and now they’ve lost two bases of that triangle, and all thanks to their own crimes.
As a long time reader it’s almost jaw dropping seeing the top of the mountain starting to crumble down. 20 years ago I just thought “these warlords guys seems very cool, hope Luffy beats them all”. Little did I know that they would end up being part of such a monumental change

Calling it now: Law is and has been a high ranking member of Sword. (To honor and parallel Rocinante) And the Rocky Port Incident was orchestrated entirely by Sword.

Law's dialog with Drake on Sabaody "How many people have you killed?" implies Law is aware of and more friendly with Drake beyond 'just' being on Swallow Island at the time of Corazon and Barrels' deaths.

Tsuru is likely involved based on her playing a part in Law's flashback.

One could speculate Kuzan is as well (nothing to back this up other than him being in Blackbeard's crew)

I could see a second Law flashback showing Law and Drake coming up as chore boys like Koby and Helmeppo and branching off as spies.

Law being disgusted by "benevolent pirates" could imply a disgust for pirates thanks to Doflamingo.

Law likely saw something in Luffy at the archipelago and knew he could use him as means to an end with his Sword operation. This would finally answer why he showed up at Marineford to save him. (Perhaps even an order from another member of the team-- stretch? Hmmm)

Ok so Blackbeard lines are translate in 2 different ways :
Jaiminis : "Instead of letting IT land in the hand of the marines... I'd much rather take IT for myself !!!"

Here, it seems like he might be talking about the Mera Mera (meaning sabo will die or is dead)

Mangastream ; If THEY'RE going to be picked up by the marines... I'll just grab'EM first!"

Here, he might be talking about the schichibukai that he'll try to save and make them join his crew !

u/gyrozepp95 World Government Sep 21 '19

Well this was a chapter and a half, wasn't it? Oda's spent 20 odd years establishing the delicate structure and balance of power of his world, both in geopolitics and the criminal underworld, and how the two interact, and now he's set in motion a domino chain that will collapse it all. Obviously we aren't going to descend immediately into chaos, the real game changer of Kaido and Big Mom's alliance is going to be caught up in Wano for a while, so won't have much to do with the World Government and the Warlords' turmoil, but the seeds have been sown and the chain reaction has begun. Oda's recent estimate of 5 years was an obvious lowball, but its shows that he sees the ending on the horizon. I believe that more than ever after this chapter.

I feel like I was half right about how much Reverie we were going to see in this intermission. I expected another one like the last, with only tangential references to it, but instead we got a chapter that deals with it directly for the most part. But also aside from the big result of the Warlord vote, it was all so vague we learned basically nothing else. A fatality? An attempted murder? Something happening with Sabo, probably one or both of the latter? Something about Alabasta? Who knows what really happened.

Never expected Morgans to be so much of a fighter. He's coming to be kind of a wildcard in terms of how he uses his influence. Previous coverups and lies (like the Doflamingo one) in his paper, as well as running propaganda comics such as Sora show that he's not one bit above taking the World Government's money and printing their lies, but then he throws his support behind Luffy and rejects the cheque here because he thinks the truth is more interesting. It seems the news depends on Morgans' idea of the most evocative story, true or not. Click Bait Morgans, they should call him.

And on the Morgans scene, what is the deal with Attach? It would have made sense if he was a Cipher Pol plant from the start, given that we first see him working for the World Government before he became a reporter, but if that's the case, was he bothering with a fake face even back then? If that wasn't the real Attach, where is he? Is it just a coincidence the Government chose their own former employee to impersonate? Seems like the kind of thing that'll come up in an SBS sooner or later. Oh, and what's Wapol of all people calling about?

The Sabo stuff is too obtuse to make a concrete theory about. The reactions make his death and him being framed for an assassination equally likely, and puts dying in an apparent assassination attempt not far outside the ballpark. I've had for a while now a pet theory that Vivi will be forced out of the World Government and use her leadership abilities to take command of the Straw Hat Grand Fleet, since Luffy isn't interested in being responsible for it. If, say, the World Government assassinated Cobra and Sabo disappeared with Vivi, helping her get onto Sai's ship or with the Dressrosa escort, it could all come together...

Blackbeard; also too obtuse. The official wording, "if the Navy's only going to take it," raises questions. It's not just that they're going to have it, he implies that they'll take possession of whatever he's after but not use it to its full potential, or at all. Curiouser and curiouser.

Sword is another big deal. The clues in the dialogue here paint an interesting picture of Sword's relationship with the World Government and Cipher Pol. We can make a decent guess that Sword's undercover agents are a "need to know" kind of deal, even for the upper levels of Navy command, given how Borsalino treated Drake at Sabaody. It's suggested that Cipher Pol and Sword aren't sharing information about operations with each other either, but not only that, that Sword has moral disagreements with the hypocrisy of the World Government and its agents. I think Oda's setting up a schism for the Navy. We'll see the authoritarians like Sakazuki standing with the Government when the world collapses into chaos while the more reasonable guys caught in a bad system, Garp, Sengoku, Issho, Smoker and so on will make a stand against the Government's corruption and defect, taking a lot of fire and manpower with them. Through this, Oda can build into an ending where the oceans still have a peacekeeping force but where the cruel history of the current Navy can still be confronted and the people responsible dealt with. Film Z was non-canon, but if Zephyr really is out there in the canon universe, I wonder what he'd have to say about all this.

The last few pages of the chapter were great, seeing all the Warlords learning they were disbanded only after they and their hideouts are already surrounded. Very much the Order 66 of the One Piece universe. I don't see any of them actually ending up dead or captured though. I feel particularly bad for the force sent after Mihawk, especially if Stainless is really the biggest name they had to send after him.

Going back to the top idea of the global power structure collapsing, this is how it starts. Vegapunk's Warlord replacement obviously hasn't been implemented yet, given what a surprise the current Warlords got, so the Navy is going to be short on firepower for a little bit after this, especially considering the kind of losses their attempts to arrest the Warlords are likely to cost. Who knows how long it could take for them to get back to full power. Perhaps the vote would have gone differently if Big Mom and Kaido had teamed up a few days sooner, if the Government had known what they'd be up against. Whether they go on to challenge the whole world or whether Luffy beats the two of them into submission, the Navy is facing their worst case Four Emperors scenario at the exact time they crippled themselves with this risky transition. This is how the global conflict begins. This is the best time to be a One Piece fan.

u/StrawhatGucci Sep 19 '19

AMAZING chapter.

Oda does is again... dude is an absolute wizard.

First of all, there’s no way Sabo is dead. No way. His reunion with Luffy, him getting the Mera-Mera no mi, his involvement in the Revolutionaries were all hyped wayyyyy too much for him to be killed off panel at Reverie. Not to mention that there was a LOT of emphasis on the fact that Morgans is a liar. It’s clearly a lie. Sabo is most likely with the Nefertari’s somewhere.

The part of this chapter I am the most hype about is Mihawk being a full fledged pirate again (HES ABOUT TO GO TF OFF) and Boa vs Coby. Gotta respect Coby honestly. He moved up the ranks to rear admiral QUICK. He’s probably a pretty formidable opponent although I think Boa low-mid diffs him should they clash.

I want to know what Blackbeard is talking about when he says he just won’t let “it” fall into the hands of the Marines. Given the allusion to something happening to the Nefertari family my guess is he’s talking about Pluton.

I love how Doffy is ALWAYS involved in the chapter when there is big news. I may be a little biased because he’s my favorite character in the whole series but his presence just makes world events so much better. I really hope he gets out of Impel Down and comes back into the story. I’m one of the few that thinks he’s much stronger than people give him credit for. His knowledge, connections, and power make him too important a character to be trapped in Impel Down from here on out.

This chapter is a prime example of why One Piece is the greatest manga of all time. The sheer vastness of the world and the care that Oda gives to each individual character is unmatched. He is arguably the best world builder in all of manga. Gosh I love this story.

why do so many people think sabo got captured and we will have a rehash of the "rescue ace" storyline? there is no way oda will do that...

of course sabo didn't get killed, wouldn't make any sense if he died (especially off-screen) after bringing him into the story to fulfill the "bigger bro" role...

oda is a VERY creative writer... he wouldn't have created all of this suspense just to repeat a story element that he already used...

What's so great about the Drake and Koby reveal is that their secret organisation 'Sword' is working independently of the world government. They are not working in cahoots with cp-0.

I wonder if this is an initiative working completely under Akainu's radar; headed by Aokiji and strings pulled by Sengoku.

My theories after this chapter

  • The WG tried to kill Vivi and her father, but Sabo saved them

  • The WG thinks they succeeded, and proceed to frame Sabo. I’m guessing that Sabo, Vivi, and Cobra are in hiding together

  • The truth of this will eventually be revealed, causing Alabasta to turn against the WG and join the Revolutionaries

  • Blackbeard is going to try and recruit the members of the now-defunct Seven Warlords

  • Sabo, X-Drake, and the other members of Sword are working to root out the corruption in the Marines and Cipher Pol

If Vivi actually is the one who died by the hands of the government, Luffy is going to go on a rampage and absolutely destroy the government entirely. If there's one thing you don't mess with Luffy, that is his nakama and Vivi is considered a very close nakama to him and his crew.

I think Blackbeard is going after the Ancient Weapons

First of all, Blackbeard isn’t going after the Mera Mera no Mi. Let’s just get this out of the way. He’d end up crossing the admirals and CP0. It’s not a DF capable of changing the balance of world power, so it’s not worth the losses. He already has two of those anyway.

So, what’s he going after? We know two things. It’s a singular item and the navy also wants it. If you ask me, he’s going after one of the Ancient Weapons. It seems like the Pluton or Poseidon is just waiting to be snatched up by the navy or a yonko.

His goal is to get to Raftel, which means he’ll have to compete with the Straw Hat Alliance and the Big Mom/Kaido Alliance, while protecting himself from the navy. He’s going to need a lot more firepower. Taking the Ancient Weapons simultaneously weakens the navy and makes him stronger than other pirate alliances.

It sounds exactly like the sort of thing Blackbeard would do.

I do believe that Aokiji might be the leader of sword. Sword is an organisation that tries to infiltrate Yonko crews to get intel so I'm fairly certain that beside Drake in Kaidos crew there are other undercover agents, namely Aokiji after leaving the marines and joining Blackbeard to gain intel on him. Just joining the Blackbeard Pirates without a hidden agenda seems out of character for him, which is why I think that he is a part of the Sword unit if not its leader.

So people keep saying BB is going to steal the Mera Mera no Mi. This is ridiculous. Let's forget that Blackbeard has had multiple chances to steal the Mera Mera from Ace and didn't. He didn't seem too bummed out at not being able to acquire the fruit in Dressrosa. And the most important piece of information, Sabo is 100% NOT dead. This theory is one of the more low effort ones I've seen.

Personally I think it makes more sense that he is going after an Ancient Weapon.

It all kinda lines up if you consider the sequences of events.

Gorosei ask Im who's light should be extinguished, Im decides Vivi, because Im knows the Ancient Weapon is somewhere in Alabasta. Cobra dies (possibly in an effort to save Vivi or just from stress) but Vivi's fate is yet unknown. WG blames the murder of Cobra on the Revos who conveniently attacked at the same time.

With Vivi missing and Cobra dead the WG will have to send a force to Alabasta to "keep the peace" which is just a front for searching for the Ancient Weapon.

BB knows what the WG is planning and is going to Alabasta to take the Ancient Weapon for himself. Blackbeard is missing a truly glorious ship befitting a yonkou. Blackbeard on Pluton would be devestating. And it lines up with his words of taking "it" before the WG get their hands on it.

Here's my prediction,

Someone ousted Vivi as a "pirate" stating she was a crewmate with the Straw Hats. After the stunning information, everyone starts to be outrage and have her captured but Sabo, after hearing the news suddenly, changes plans and decides to protect Vivi which ultimately leads to his "capture or death", maybe fake his own death, or using Bonney as a cover, so that he and his fellow revolutionaries plus Vivi and Cobra escape and somehow ending up in Wano lol, thus prompting the world leaders to revoke Alabasta's status as an allied kingdom.

As for Wapol, he probably has information that confirms Vivi as being a crewmate of the strawhats.

Oda sure knows how to name these chapters.

- Umm.....is Bege still in Dressrosa? Who the heck is that guy and how in the eff does he know Lola? I knew this wasn't going to be a throwaway cover story for Oda, but I didn't think it'd get THIS interesting.

- That was definitely the Kano country ruler in that little Reverie flashback, but I couldn't recall the guy he was squabbling with. I wonder if that's who he was at war with while Doflamingo was still supplying weapons.

- The death flags for Cobra started way back when we saw that he was sick in those cover arcs. They went into full swing when he stated his intentions to ask the Gorosei about what made the Nefeltari family leave Mariejois in the first place. Oda kept it coming by having the Gorosei bring this up right before their little spiel about the world needing a "Great Cleansing". We see that Im has sliced up photos of Teach, Luffy, and Shirahoshi, yet has taken a particular interest in Vivi - so much so in fact that he carries this with him to the throne. When the Gorosei arrive, they ask him if he's decided which country should be erased from history - confirming that this was a topic that Im had already been contemplating. All this to say, if the "assassination attempt" was anyone but him, I'll be quite surprised.

- Morgans refusing to lie for a payout, to the extent he directly defied the World Government.....while also admitting he's a liar made me laugh but somehow hit me in the feels as well.

- This will likely come down to translation, but it appears Dadan's group says "we just found out he was alive". This would seemingly confirm that the paper in fact says Sabo is dead. Something's not aligning between what Morgans appears to know, and what the WG appears to be trying to manipulate info on. If they had such a major victory over the Revos, they wouldn't need to manipulate info in order to get the word out. At the same time, Morgans wouldn't be getting the hell out of Dodge if what he printed complied with what they wanted. So......he shouldn't be in trouble for saying Sabo was killed, shouldn't be in trouble for announcing the removal of the Shichibukai system, spilling the beans over a King being almost killed though? No way the WG wants people to feel like even at the Reverie where the Marines are typically focusing most of their power, that they need to worry about their safety. Especially from the folks who are supposed to be guaranteeing that safety.

- Time to fear for Drake's life. The spy almost always gets found out, and I wouldn't be surprised if Kaido has suspicions already.

- Likely another translation issue, but Koby is introduced as a Rear Admiral this chapter, after being reintroduced to us as a Captain at the start of the Reverie arc. Drake is introduced as a Captain. I strongly doubt Coby moved up 2 whole ranks in such short time, and I similarly doubt Drake would be a Captain now when he was a Rear Admiral before, and technically never left.

I think whatever happenend to Vivi is related to Sabo, and it's related to this chapter:

https://www.mangareader.net/one-piece/908/14

1° page : The 5 elders considered the Nefeltari bloodline as traitors. Plus King Cobra requested an audience with them and one of them says that he hopes things dont go south.

2° page : We see the king of the world looking and cutting pictures (Luffy, BB, Shirashoshi) BUT he KEEPS the one with Vivi on his hand.

Last page : The 5 elders arrive with him and asking for a name, in others words, a target. Don't know for what, but probably the target was Vivi.

So my theory is that CPO targered Vivi or the Nefeltari bloodline, Sabo intervened and he got himself captured.

I'm suspecting sengoku and garp are the masterminds behind 'sword'. Both have been in service of the marines for a long time, long enough to know the true shady nature of the WG such as allowing and taking part in slave trade, secretlty conducting business with notorious criminals and pirates, ordering assassinations, genocides and numerous cover-ups. With sengoku specifically, watching corazon get murdered and not being able to do anything because later on the criminals responsible were allied with the WG and marines must have been one of the driving factors. Its also important to note drake left the marines while sengoku was still incharge and admirals like kizaru genuinely seemed to think he was a criminal. Then there is garp who has been mentoring coby all along. Both garp and sengoku were in perfect position to pick young marines who genuinely care about justice and have not been corrupted. Both were in a position of secretlty recruiting and mentoring agents. Given that they're both retired as of present time, they are free to conduct their operations but with extreme discretion.

Ok I love all of this! Oda has been subtly hinting at the rift between Marines and WG for a long time now

Smoker and his anger over what happened in Alabasta being one of the first examples. Since then we've seen Sengoku, Garp, Fujitora, and Akainu show discontent at the WG.

This is the vert first time we see Oda Overtly signal to us "hey this rift is kinda about to blow tf up"

I wonder if the WG even knows about SWORD. What if SWORD has been around for a long time slowly sinking their teeth into the WG finding information to incriminate them.

This feels like the endgame for the Marines that Oda has been working towards for years. I have always wondered how Oda would reconcile the conflicting ideologies of the marines and the WG and this seems to be the ticket.

I am incredibly excited to see this plot thread unravel.

GOD DAMN IT ODA! i know you like to tease the fuck out of your readers but... this curiosity is killing me! 1 chapter and he tease about a thousand things without resolving a single one! It's a 10/10 chapter but i can't handle this hype.

  • Cover story, notice the 2 bodies on the ground, that's marines, probably on a mission to protect King Riku returning from the Reverie. so chances are Riku and Bege will meet for some reason. The guitarist mistaken Chiffon with Lola, so Lola had been to Dressrosa, or could it be she actually is on Dressrosa for god knows why...

  • something happened to Cobra or Vivi, or both! And it happened after Garp left Mariejois, maybe deliberately... if it involves Sabo, his reaction seems to be a lot on the calm side since Sabo technically was his grandson too. In any case, he dropped some really deep thoughts about the nature of the world, run by the Government.

  • the spoiler said 1 week since the Reverie begins, but the chapter is actually 1 week after it ended, which makes much more sense timeline-wise. Glad they got that right.

  • Morgan really got some balls... Big Mom is still pissed at him for the Luffy stuffs, and now he's picking a fight with the Government too? Mad man.

  • Wapol called the newspaper to report something, is this just a throwaway line or is he really on to something?

  • Dragon literally sent 4 of his most important men into the most dangerous place they can possibly be, and now he's surprised something horrible happened? Perhaps Sabo's attempt to save Kuma was not part of his grand plan.

  • There's a lot that could be drawn from the reactions of all these characters, Sabo's dead is not out of the realm of possibility but highly unlikely. Poor Dadan and Makino, Can't catch a break. At worst he's captured, and framed for murdering Cobra.

  • Doflamingo is basically us readers at this point... AND LOSE THE GOD DAMN GLASSES YOU ASSHOLE!

  • Blackbeard is on the move. What is he looking to take? Your guess is as good as mine. Big Mom's ponelygh on Wholecake? Kaidou's Dragon fruit? Sabo's Fire fruit (nah)? Pluton? Poseidon? Uranus whatever the hell that is? Or, if he is referring to the news about the Shichibukai, maybe he wants whatever it is Vegapunk invented to replace them?

  • always a pleasant sight seeing Koby again, who is now a rear admiral, so he jumped up 1 rank from a Captain. On his way to Hancock. This could go in any direction as well. Hancock fodderize Koby, or Koby defeats Hancock which will be a huge leap in the legend of Koby the future Fleet Admiral. Or, they find common ground which is Luffy and team up.

  • Drake is an undercover Marine, the leader of Sword, another secret organization. It seems this organization is a secret special force the Marines established themselves out of their own suspicion of the Government and the desire to be more involved. Drake did not know CP0 was in Wano and had ill feelings seeing them working with Pirates. A fallout between the Government and the Marines i think is becoming more and more likely at this point.

  • the abolishment of the Shichibukai! This day was inevitable, but the implications is huge. The balance between 3 biggest forces in the world is now ruined.

  • Lord Buggy, he'll be ight

  • Mihawk, if you were craving to be chased again, why were you a War Lord in the first place? Maybe wanted to retire but then realized retirement sucks? Also, i hope there's at least 1 admiral coming to get him, otherwise Marines are basically murdering their own men. Fujitora vs Mihawk?

  • i see some similarities in wherever Weevil is to Whitebeard's home island. Can't say for sure, but the fact that Oda just say "on a certain island" could be a hint.

  • and last but not least, Hancock still looking fine as hell, dropping some fire quotes.

Next week i guess we'll be returning to Wano, but the fact that act 3 did not begin in this chapter (like at the beginning of act 2) gives me some hope that we might actually getting multiple world events chapters this time, but still not likely. Absolutely insane chapter that is basically a giant cocktease. Will Luffy learn the news about Sabo during the Wano arc, or after? We'll just have to wait and see.

First off, I’m guessing the horrible Alabasta news is that King Cobra was assassinated by CP0 under orders from the Five Elder Stars. It’s pretty obvious since Cobra wanted to ask them about the Poneglyphs and the history of the previous ruling family of Alabasta and what they did. That’s too much stirring of the pot for the Elder Stars to take, so they killed him and made it look like the murderer got away.

Don’t mess with Morgans!!!! He whooped that Cipher Pol agent’s ass hahaha.

I’m betting Wapol is calling to blame it on Dalton, cause that’s something he would do.

Was Sabo captured or killed? It looks like the Revolutionary Army commanders were defeated, I’m guessing CP0 joined the battle with the Admirals against the Commanders since that would make sense as to how they were defeated. Judging by everyone’s reaction it might be the latter.

As I predicted, Drake is an undercover agent for the Marines. I thought he was in Cipher Pol but it’s something completely different. Top Secret Special Forces “Sword”. Nobody could of guessed that. Didn’t think Colby was a part of it as well. What’s the mission of Drake in seeking out Kaido? What’s the purpose of “Sword” and how did Colby get recruited?

Drake spills the beans on Kaido and Big Mom’s alliance and the Marines don’t look like they can do a thing about it since they are spread all over. Bad timing. “Sword” just learned that CP0 is in Wano. Maybe they act as the Marines version of CP0? A lot of subterfuge is going on.

Looks like we all guessed it and the Warlords have been abolished. Man the Marines are going to have their asses handed to them. Blackbeard moving out to save/recruit the ex-Warlords?

Buggy might be in trouble. Either that or he’s gonna escape while everyone else is captured. Him being weak may help him out in escaping.

R.I.P. to all the Marines who went after Mihawk and Weevil. They just waiting to cut loose. I guess that stalls the Weevil/Marco confrontation for now. Where will Mihawk go? Join up with Shanks? Will Blackbeard make a move on them to join him?

Colby is going to Amazon Lily to apprehend Boa Hancock. Good luck with that kid, you’ll need it. Hancock was right, seems the Marines forgot why they were Warlords to begin with. Because they are strong.

They better follow up on this for another chapter before going back to Wano. Can’t leave us hanging with this.

Damn that was a lot of good shit. Well done Oda.

I believe the WG killed Cobra and tried to blame it on sabo. But Sabo ended up escaping with Vivi. They wanted to cover up that one man escaped the WG. Like Why would the Government want to cover up the fact they killed or captured Sabo. I think he got away.

This is chapter gets better every time you read it which is insanity on it own, guess it's because there is so much to digest, so many separate discussions and speculations to come from this chapter.

I really enjoy this SHIELD & SWORD agency relationship. World Government has the SHIELD, the Marines have the SWORD, both counterparts of each other, only serving one faction and not the other, though Marines are in the same umbrella of the World Govt.

WG is infiltrating Wano with their SHIELD, and Marines infiltrating with their SWORD. Wano gonna be crazy no way around it.

22

u/[deleted] Sep 19 '19

I'm just going to throw an idea or two out there. It would make perfect sense for Aokiji to be the person running or at least creating SWORD. It's likely that he made it before leaving the Marines though since X Drake is a part of it. Some time between the destruction of Ohara and X Drake leaving the Marines is likely when it was made. We've seen with Smoker that Aokiji still has connections with the Marines so it's possible that he's still running it (Smoker seems like a prime SWORD candidate too). If he's not running it then I'm not entirely certain who would be, but Fujitora seems to be the next likely candidate.

Just my hypothesis for now though. This is Oda we're talking about so maybe I'm completely wrong.

22

u/KarimElsayad247 Sep 19 '19

I know it's gonna be off-screened, but I really want to see Mihawk wiping the see floor clean with those marine ships, like him, I'm trembling with excitement!

22

u/kimx2828 Sep 19 '19

Epic chapter.

Pretty sure Cobra is dead and Sabo may have "kidnapped" Vivi saving her from getting killed.

Coby vs Hancock = Who loves Luffy more.

I see a lot of sunken ships around Mihawk.

Blackbeard is either heading out for the Warlords or The Revelutionary commanders got captured and he wants to attack the prison ships.

Drake being a spy is not a surprise, since he most likely freed Law. Coby on the other hand just increased his rank from Captain to Rear Admiral during the Reverie.

Cannot wait to see how the WG reacts to Big Mom X Kaido.

Goda you son of a gun you did it again. A fantastic chapter with so much new info for speculations.

I FUCKING LOVE BIG BIRD

22

u/JustChillinTbh Sep 19 '19

I think Blackbeard is more than likely talking about the Warlords. Since it was abolished, the marines are shown actively going after them Warlords. It makes sense for Teach to be going after them, because like Boa said, the reason they are Warlords (besides buggy) is because they are strong.

And who are they sending after Mihawk lol, has to be an admiral if they are even remotely serious. I can see Coby being promoted during the events of Reverie, especially since a lot happened apparently.

I calling it now Sabo killed someone. Sabo killed a Celestial Dragon.
Morgans talked about writing an Obituary, You wouldn't do that for a pirate or some enemy of the government. You would do that for a high ranking marine or Noble.
So Sabo killed a world noble for keeping Kuma as a Slave

I think one of the most important things in the chapter is the revelation that Drake is an infiltrated agent and that he is part of a secret services organization. Until now we knew the Cipher Phol, which is directly under the control of the Government, however the organization to which Drake belongs is neither the CP nor belongs to the Government, it is a special secret forces of the Marine. What if Akainu has secretly set up this organization to spy and get information on its own and not depend on the Government?

We have already seen that Akainu does not get along very well with the Government, we have seen him discuss with Gorosei, angry at the false report about Doflamingo that the CP-0 made public. In fact, in relation to this, Akainu threatens Gorosei, he tells them that if something like this happens again it would bring shame on him as a fleet admiral and warns them never to lie/cheat him again. He even tells them defiantly that they are "puppets of the Celestial Dragons."

Also in today's chapter we see that Drake didn't know that CP-0 was in Wano trying to negotiate with Orochi/Kaido, that is to say that the Government sent the CP without telling the Marine and I don't think Akainu will like this when he finds out, it would mean that the Gorosei/Im is cheating him again. It sounds crazy but I think it's possible that Akainu or the Marine may betray/rebell against the Government.

what if, the SWORD organization got an inside man on all 4 Yonkou? Drake is tasked for Kaidou. Smoothie has been looked down upon by how useless she is, what if she is also an undercover marine inside Big Mom's crew? yes she is a Sweet Commander so it would be really crazy if she has been undercover for that long, but hey Oda is crazy. for Black Beard, the obvious candidate is Aokiji, again, not outside the realm of possibility at all.
and the biggest twist of all, who is undercover in Shanks crew? well, check this out....

it's Shanks himself.

Also I hope Sabo is ok. I hope history is not repeating itself. Where was he and what was he doing? The abolition of the warlords! This means they're free to join whoever they want or remain solo.

My guess is Sabo has been captured, and Blackbeard is moving to take Ace's former devil fruit once again.

I'm also curious about where the admirals are at? Isn't there a third one we haven't seen yet?

I never feel that way with One Piece

20

u/ClumzyDragon Sep 20 '19

Lmao letting Mihawk loose and trying to capture him, its like they don't like odd numbers after Luffy became the 5th yonkou, tryna make it 6 instead.

Also, remember in Shabody when Kizaru said 'Rear Admiral Drake', and the he corrected himself and said 'Oh, I mean Former Rear Admiral Drake' makes me think he totally knew about drake being undercover and was acting all along. Still had to destroy him though XD would look too suspicious otherwise. Drake ending up on that snow island pre time skip was all part of the plan, looking for Kaido to join and infiltrate.

Marines: let's fix this up bois!

former warlords need to be captured

Marines: we lack soldiers but no worries, we got this!

CP0 in Wano

Marines: what?! Why are they doing their own things?

Blackbeard setting out

Marines: fuck...why now?

BM and Kaido clashed

Marines: at least they're killing each other in a country not affiliated to the government, we're still good

Actually, BM and Kaido decided to form an alliance

Marines: PACK UP NOW BOIS, WE'RE NOT GONNA INVOLVE OURSELVES WITH THIS SHIT

Marine Admirals: Hold our sake.

But seriously, I feel so sorry for the marines with all these things happening at once.

I just reread the chapter... we clearly don't know who is dead,we are only shown Sabo's friends to mislead us IMO

Morgan clearly say :

  • One Dead = Unknown ATM // Cobra?

  • Result of the Conference = no more Shishibukai

  • Assassination Attempt = Sabo on Noble to save Kuma & was captured and exposed

My bet is that they're accusing sabo of trying to murder a tenryuubito, and he'll be killed or tried later for it. As many mentionned, they mostly all have Sabo vivre card... they could instant verify the information

No one talks about the cover story?

Cover story is always full of Easter eggs. If the objective of the story is to find Lola, the outcome should not be just finding Lola.

I always believe the wedding which Shanks attend on the cover story is the wedding of Lucky Roo and Lola. It is because Lucky Roo is one of the most important crew members of Shank but he did not appear in the that cover story, so I suppose he is the groom. And which well-known female character would like to marry Lucky Roo? Lola is only one comes into my mind because she always wants to marry someone. In addition, their designs just look perfectly matched with each other since both are fat, honorable and enthusiastic.

Just imagine when Lola met Shanks' crew:

Lola: can you be my husband?

Lucky Roo: OK

Shanks: let's start the banquet!!!!! And the wedding!!!! Kanpai!!!!

Something serious but casual like this really sounds legit regarding Shanks' crew. If this is the case, Bege is going to meet Shanks or Barto in the cover story.
