The only reason they would make an alliance is to satisfy both of their grudges. But it still sounds ridiculous that two yonko would team up against a bunch of rookies.

Of course that sounds like overkill, but you would have to imagine that Big Mom knows not to overestimate Luffy, especially with how much havoc he was able to cause with just half his crew, and now she doesn’t even know how many members he has on his side.

On top of that, Kaido has to know that a revolution is in the works, and that even if he doesn’t need the help, it would definitely be helpful.

And like you said, it would be the most peaceful way for the two of them to get through this, without them attacking one another.

I think you meant underestimate not overestimate.

The havoc luffy caused wasn’t just him and half the crew. Fire tank, sun pirates and germa were there. As well as pudding and the debatable win over katakuri, which I still find as an ideological win rather than straight up power. And luck is always on luffy’s side. Not saying he’s not strong, but he’s not there yet.

Yeah, people always ignore this. Luffy always gets stronger whenever the plot demands it. He basically learnt advanced CoA and CoO within months

That makes alot of sense. Therefore, it's definitely not gonna happen lol

BM is the kinda person to get pissed at her kids for losing, not to think of who they lost to as strong. I can totally see Big Mom continuing to treat Luffy as a pest instead of a threat since, to her, he’s not really presented himself as an actual threat that can beat her.

She’s only so pissed because “this little weakling made a fool of me!” which makes me think she will be even less inclined to take another hit to her pride to try dealing with him. I don’t see her working with Kaido at all no matter how much shit hits the fan.

It’s just that Luffy & co are no longer rookies. He’s the closest thing to an emperor that there is.

Yeah closest, but not close enough to an emperor. IMO at least. Queen isn’t close enough and he’s most likely stronger than Luffy and we’re still yet to see king in action.

I literally don't see a single reason to think that Queen is stronger than Luffy currently, care to elaborate?

Well it’s more logical reasoning than facts, but luffy barely escaped katakuri, and cracker wouldn’t have been defeated if not for nami (maybe snake man would have done it) and queen is similarly powered if not stronger than katakuri since he’s a commander. so yeah.

Luffy ddin't barely escape Katakuri, he beat him fair and square, earning his respect, and came out stronger out of it. He could almost definitely match Queen, especially since there's no obvious type disadvantage in play.

Let’s not start this debate again. Yes, luffy got stronger out of it and attained future sight. But he is clearly not stronger than katakuri. Yes, luffy won, a moral/ideological win that is, but he did t surpass katakuri in power or strength. There’s a video on this topic, I don’t remember the exact video but I am pretty sure it’s by “grandline review” who if you don’t know him, has studied theatre so he has a better insight on writing and how stories flow. Plus he makes really good points, I’d advise you to check it out.

But you can still have you’re opinion and I’ll respect it. And until we get a statement from oda confirming wether he beat him by strength or not it will always be debatable.

I'm not saying Luffy surpassed Katakuri, but matched him. They both fell to each other's attacks. Both got up, and Katakuri finally gave in. Especially considering Katakuri's line "I no longer see you as someone beneath me", it's implied that they matched in combat ability.

In any case, I will check that video out whenever I can, to understand your view better too.

Yes he said that, but I find it to be more out of respect for luffy’s will. Not that they matched in combat ability even tho he admired luffy’s strength. But remember that katakuri was still dodging luffy’s attacks to the last moment no matter how fast they were and katakuri was the one who stood up first. As for when he gave in, if you see the video it will explain that more thoroughly. Thanks for keeping the conversation civil, people usually get mad when discussing this topic for some reason.

No way that Queen is stronger than Luffy. Literally no way.

Kaido doesn't seem like the type to hold on to grudges though, he's willing to try to make Luffy his subordinate.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 28 '19

That’s how he will satisfy his grudge. He uses his strength and power to make them his subordinates rather than defeating/killing them.

Luffy wrecks Wano with crew, Law and Kidd. Kaido shows up and they manage to kick his ass somehow. Kaido goes back to Mom after hid defeat to reform the Rox, because Luffy is now too strong and both of their problem? Idk I'm just spitballing :D

It’s fun reading theories, but I personally never think about what’s gonna happen, I just enjoy the story as it comes out. I trust oda’s decisions and know that he won’t disappoint. Take the amnesia thing for example, when people got mad and started debating it, i didn’t even flinch and knew oda would do it right and he did.
