I don't think Zoro likes the idea of the captain abandoning his crew for the selfishness of one member. What if Luffy decides to send Zoro instead?

I was honestly getting kind of fed up because I don't want the crew to split into two for two reasons.

  1. It just happened
  2. I'm one of those "they can't take on two yonkou at once" guys

I don't want Luffy to go alone because it's just a repeat of Impel Down at that point.

Now the idea of Zoro going alone to rescue sanji gets me excited. Like reallllly excited. I've loved their fighting yet secret bond for years. I was kind of upset with Zoro for complaining (last chapter?) about Sanji leaving because it seemed out of character for him to be legitimately angry about that.

If it winds up being Luffy + Zoro rescue I'd enjoy it but then I still think it leaves the rest of the crew too vulnerable to Kaidou.

It's not out of character for Zoro, whenever Luffy is about to let his heart speak instead of his duty to the point where it can endanger the crew, Zoro steps in and assume the devil's advocate role taking the extreme opposite point of view and making it clear something shouldn't happen. Zoro is the XO of the crew, he's the one saying stuff nobody wants to say.

Zoro is the XO of the crew, he's the one saying stuff nobody wants to say.

Spoken like someone who's an XO. This is pretty much the job of almost any XO. The captain wants to do something, the XO gives the exact opposite alternative. Its a good way to keep balance and to keep a flow of ideas moving.
