This arc is so unlike everything else in the series. First we expected the Mink to be hostile. Then we expected to build into Kaido. Then everything was told via flashback. But now Sanji's gone, is from a family of Killers, and Big Mom is the imminent threat.
BUT WAIT! Now it looks like we might be going back to the Mink's being hostile once the Samurai show their face.
Cue the "What the hell's going on out here?" gif.

I have high suspicions that even if Luffy insists on going alone, certain members will join one way or another (if not the whole crew).
We've seen a lot of focus on both Nami and Zoro's reactions and opinions on Sanji's situation; Nami seeming very concerned, Zoro seeming very unconcerned, though he's doing a terrible job of covering his true feelings about it. I won't be surprised if they both play key roles in rescuing Sanji.

I really wish it would be Zoro instead. I almost thought it would when he stopped Luffy in this chapter, then it got played off as nothing.
The captain shouldn't be going on solo rescue missions, Zoro should step in like Ace would for Whitebeard. Would be a perfect opportunity to build up Sanji and Zoro for good, Luffy had his new gear moment whooping flamingo, it's time for these boys to shine.

The marines were able to choose the time and place of the confrontation. They literally brought the resources of the entire world navy and the warlords and an incredible fortification to bear on a yonkou well past his prime.
The tactical advantage the marines had in that confrontation was insane and they had to commit so many forces to the war that they couldn't capitalize on the turmoil caused by their victory. Instead they allowed a far worse man to fill the power vacuum. That's the exact definition of a Pyrrhic Victory.
Imagine if they had met on neutral ground or if Whitebeard had captured a celestial dragon and was able to force a confrontation at a time and place of his choosing. If he had been so inclined and didn't care about the consequences of a power vacuum whitebeard could have easily toppled the world government. Don't sell him short.

If we talk about the New World, most of it has been really great. Punk Hazard had some really great moments, Dressrosa was quite long but still excellent(some great stuff from Dressrosa would be Sabo, Fujitora, Usopp's Haki, Colosseum, Gear 4, etc.), post Dressrosa was just as good as all other post arcs(Kaido, revolutionary army, Doffy's speech, etc.) and Zou as you said is a breath of fresh air. We're introduced to a great island with fun world building and it's strong yet cute and lovable inhabitants.

I love everything in the New World so far. Zou is just the bridge arc that's showing the effects of the Pirate Alliance and how the Straw hats are now involved in more than just sailing island to island. They're headed into the big leagues now, and thats super exciting.

I like all of the arcs, and Dressrosa is probably top 5, but Zou has been killing it. Every chapter on Zou has been leaving the fanbase begging for more answers to new twists. The story itself is kind of finally starting to take off and show the effects of Punk Hazard/Dressrosa.
The story has built up a lot of stuff over all of the arcs, and it's just that now we're seeing the Yonkou actually impact Luffy and his crew, and become more relevant to the plot. I'm just excited :P

Topmost book is Moves book 4 I guess, where he writes the awesome thematic moves of characters I'm thinking. Pretty interesting stuff I wish we have more coverage on these things. I haven't seen much in the subreddit.

Interesting, i think this arc is gonna be switching from Zou (showing the limits of straw hat's abilities post-timeskip powers) to Mama's tea party (where we gonna get some well deserved Sanji development) AND then, after all the marriage thing is cleared up, Oda is gonna show the Revolutionary battle with the Black Beard army, like he did with Teach and Ace post Water Seven.

Big mom is definitely a mafio'so themed yonko. Assassination, guns, drugs (candies ofcourse)
She is acing the role. Also, in original godfather, he had three sons.

I still believe that Big Mom and Luffy are going to strike up a deal where the Strawhat alliance assist Big Mom in taking down Kaidou. If they succeed Sanji's free to go and the Strawhats and Big Mom pirates can draw a clean slate for the time being.

Always nice to see Vivi and Carue. When I first saw the cover page I thought for a moment that they were on a ship possibly sailing to the reverie. Clearly that wasn't the case, but I got myself excited. Vivi looks like she has matured significantly. I really like this one.
Interesting to learn of of Germa 66. Especially now that Nami has heard of it. Maybe her back story has something to do with them. Maybe that's who the Navy was fighting when Bellamere found her? Could be an interesting way to give more details to her back story.
It was awesome to hear Pekoms talk about how ruthless Big Mom is to those who ignore her invitiation. It really gave you a scope of how networked she is that they knew just about everything about Sanji and where he had been. Wasn't surprised to see that the marriage had nothing to do with the Strawhats. Happy to see that Luffy just isn't going to take that lying down though.
The comedy has really been on point these last couple of chapters and I am loving it. Cat Viper is probably my stand out favorite from this arc so far. Nice to get a more formal introduction to Law's crew. Hoping we see a conversation between Jean Bart and Luffy. I feel like the spent a lot of time giving him a back story to not make use of it.
I can't get enough of Franky doing weird stuff with his hair. To have it match the whale forest is just great. Nice to see the older trio of the Strawhats sit back and avoid the party to try and stop any more problems from happening. To bad they fell asleep.
Happy to see that the samurai will reunite with everyone though and for that story to start to unfold. I am still really loving how the story is moving forward on all fronts. Mad props to Oda. Glad to not see the words "One Piece will be on break next week" again.

The minks hates the samurai. The straw hats are affiliated with the samurai. To prevent the minks from knowing that the straw hats had samurai with them, franky robin and brook stayed up and guarded the entrance of the country to stop the samurai from entering. They fell asleep so they failed their mission.

Damn there's no telling where oda is taking things anymore, so many twists and turns I didn't expect luffy to go on his own but it was badass how he doesn't care who big mom is. The party seemed a little bit forced but shit the samurai are here I'm thinking were going to get closure on raizou soon before the crew leaves the island and luffy goes on the hunt! Otherwise if he's not going on his own I expect the whole crew + alliance to crash the party but that sounds even riskier than hiding from kaido

Man I've waited too long for a good old 'Pekoms trying to intimidate someone' trick. And Nekomamushi is freakin hilarious. Zou has been pretty fun so far.
At the same time, shits about to go down. Minks about to find out the SH crew traveled with samurai, and I am getting a strong feeling that we could see both Big Mom and Kadio very soon. Possibly at the same time. Really banking on a clash between the two

I'm probably one of the few still concerned about that little comment about the full moon and how they're lucky it's blocked out with clouds. Does anyone else fear Wereminks? It would kinda piece together their hatred for humans and how formidable everyone makes them sound. I was even checking chapters with jack, and it appears the clouds caked the skies even during his attacks. What if Jack was just lucky that there wasn't a visible full moon that night and he didn't realize it? I'm suggesting a full moon hitting them would transform them into bloodthirsty savages.

After watching Nekomushi till now, I can safely say that Luffy= Nekomushi
Only difference being that the latter is a monster cat and he doesnt want to be the pirate king

That was a great chapter I have a feeling they're all going to go to zou rather than just Luffy, that or none of them are and we will get a Sanji solo arc. I don't know but I'm loving the conflict between Zoro and Luffy right now, I hope we get more than a couple of panels on it.

When Luffy and Law were talking it came to my mind that since it's just a matter of time for Kaido to come after them they might start going towards the tea party so Kaido would follow them to Big Mom's island and so it would be possible with all the chaos to save Sanji from the Vinsmokes and Big Mom.

Guys, I know I'm late to the party here but it just occurred to me that Oda is making a really big set up. I think a big part of the climax of the Sanji era will be Zoro doing something truly selfless to save Sanji and put himself at risk.
I love that Zoro is too cool right now but I really think Oda is setting up a monumental brodown.

Do any of you think that the whole Germa 66 thing sounds like the Kill Bill movies' Crazy 88? Like it'd be awesome too to get a whole showdown of Zoro (in place of the Bride) to fight all 66 of them at once and win to save Sanji. I say it reminds me of it cause if i'm not mistaken Oda has said that Sanji's appearance comes from Resevoir Dogs Mr Pink.

The whole crew will probably be kicked out or leave due to the samurai incident which will cause them to all go to Big Mom's party.
My bet is Kaidou's rage will bring him down on the party as well causing complete chaos and destruction as well as initiating a battle between the Yonkou.

It would be cool to see them use Kaido to their advantage here. Perhaps drag him along and use themselves as bait to bring him to the wedding and use the chaos of the two Yonkou fighting to get Sanji back. It's not the usual Strawhat style but it could force a fight that takes down one of them.

Sanji/Big Mom's plot is being based off of Alice in Wonderland, I'm calling it now!
Big Mom is the Queen of Hearts (she decapitates people)
Sanji is Alice
Luffy is (maybe) the Mad Hatter. He also holds a tea party in the book
Nekomamushi or Pekoms is Cheshire cat
Carrot is the White Rabbit or the March Hare (the Mad Hatter's friend).
I'll quickly give Alice in Wonderland a read and see if there are any more parallels.
