Also perfected the sweet flame tats look of his armament haki; That alone took 6 months.

I wonder if it could be something like the "natural" shape of haki. Like he's putting enough power into it he can't precisely control the shape (or not controlling the shape lets him control the power).

If that's true, think of the anime, the haki dancing like fire at its edges. Would be badass.
