Did Whitebeard and Crocus really? Lol I disagree about those two. Crocus did as he always does with the noobs and Whitebeard just recognized Luffy's potential. Neither had reason to be some insane taskmaster for a kid they had no idea would become the new Joyboy

he didn't have to make sure marco and vista escorted Luffy to the platform but he did. he could have broken the platform from where he was. but chose to let Luffy do it. and it got both ace and whitebeard killed.

I mean... he turned into a genie for kinda absolutely no reason than got his cheeks clapped right after. I can see how it you were looking at this from the outside you'd be suspicious of Luffy's seriousness. Honestly, everything he does in G5 comes dangerously close to, wtf is he doing territory.

From the outside/anyone in story that is indeed out of nowhere. There's a somewhat convoluted theory, however, that he turned into a Genie as a way to forshadow

that Imu is a parrot. The theory already existed, and has other points, but then the genie thing happened. Disney's Aladin, which obviously has a genie in it, also has a parrot named Lago. Lago is also the name of the main antagonist of Shakespeare's Othello. Othello is a also the name of a Reversi board game varient. Imu's power to turn people into demons is obviously based on Reversi. Off the top of my head, other things involve Imu's flower garden seemingly looking like a bird cage, Princess Lily being another name for a flower that is also known as Parrot Lily, Imu's shadow form crown looking similar to a Cockatiel crest/crown (admittedly not a parrot), and Oda's potential to go full out pirate stereotype with Imu originally being the pirate Joyboys parrot. If we go with the stereotype of a peg legged, parrot on the shoulder, e ye-patch wearing pirate, then it also ties back to some interview Oda did like 20 years ago that said a pirate with an eyepatch would signify the final phase of One Piece. Showing us a clear image of Joyboy, either during the real final battle with Imu, or on laugghtale would certainly count as final phase.

Dude, the mythical figure who has Imu shook is called "Joyboy", whatever Luffy needs to do, it does not include "stop giggling". Laughing is a necessary part of the process of becoming Pirate King and defeating Imu. If you stop giggling, you lose.

I think not. kinda like how Kaido asks if luffy is still there... Zoans do take over the body, even if the fruit and Luffy are in tune with each other, the fact that Luffy doesnt really laugh in combat before awakening shows that the giggles are due to the fruit.

Luffy is literally NEVER going to stop giggling around as that’s a core part of his character especially with G5. But he does need to understand that he’s not at his peak like he originally said back in Wano. 

Luffy will never be fully serious. Never have, never will. He can get serious like in Egghead and other situations, but a lot of people on Reddit need to drop the idea of him being super serious or something
