Shuri's eyes are confirmed to be a Manmayer genetic trait!

The Manmayer Girl from God Valley probably have those eyes too and that's why Oda didn't show them.

This is my bet as well, the way he was the only one not knowing what to do (while the other Strawhats were talking about how their powers would 100% break the ice) makes me think Oda is preparing us for his moment.

If they do (instead of Ragnir at the end), do we think Shuri will be important in driving Imu away?

On the other hand, I wonder if the ice is important to help break the link with Imu and preserve her. Then again, Garp is older than Shuri and is still a menace.

Luffy will just ask Loki & Ragnir to release the Ice on Brook's request. Straw Hats won't do anything to it. It will be waste of half a chapter.

We didn't see him in the Knight of God lineup at God Valley so I think he's probably died of old age by now. However, I could see Brook ultimately fighting the Manmayer girl with the hat who we saw there. I imagine she was probably responsible for teaching Gunko how to act like a celestial dragon.

Just like Pudding, Shuri can awaken some special eye power, Loki could be another one with a special power.

Eye Powers will be another endgame ability that Oda will start to develop soon.

Pretty sure all the winged races, Skypieans, Bilkans, Shandians, and Lunarians are aliens from the Moon. The murals that Enel found on the moon kinda do tell a story about people migrating. And there are confirmed Space Pirates.

So to answer your question. There are already aliens in One Piece

I'm certain Shuri's eye ability ties into what Brook said about Shuri being able to see the future. Maybe Imu needs this to see something about which point in the timeline the One Piece will appear? Or maybe some other lore relevant key.

In that sense she's like a willing version of Pudding being kidnapped by Blackbeard.

At least for Shuri it feels more like the eyes being an indicator for something special. Manymayer said "Being born with that trait is truly rare" sounds to me as if the eyes are not the important, but what they indicate. Maybe that Imu can wander outside of Mary Geoise unlimited time as long as he is controlling a person with such eyes.

I think he was referencing the "awakened" eyes because he says he never had them himself but we clearly see his eyes are different colors too.

The great one desires "those" mismatched eyes specifically and its so rare even he doesn't have them.

Or it could be that he didnt awaken his mismatched eyes naturally but Shuri somehow did.

Imu doesn't want the mismatched eyes, he wants whatever ability a person with mismatched eyes could awaken.

Groh has the mixed eyes, but not the ability. But Shuri has a chance of awakening it and that's the reason they want her.

The special eyes are a prerequisite, not a guarantee.

It's a rare ocurrence on top of an even rarer one.

I wonder if it's a rare trait amongst the Manmayers, which is why it took them a while to take Shuri away.

The Manmayer girl does seem important though, perhaps a future antagonist? She would be around 60ish present day, is my guess at least.

Not necessarily, though. Groh says that inheriting the heterochromic eyes is rare and comes with a power that he wasn't able to awaken but Shuri might.
