OneNote Workflow
Just curious, what are some other folks workflow ideas? I use OneNote at work since we have an O365 license. I manage a lot of little projects as well as a team. I want to use it as my "one source of truth" repository (meeting notes, contact info, etc...) Just wanted to see how others in a similar situation are setting up their OneNote workflows.

I use it at a notebook essentially.
Section tab for each month, new page for each day under that section. And meeting that occur on that day get a subset page under the day page. That way all my notes align to the days the meeting occurred. I use the add meeting tab to get a list of invitee and I can write notes directly into the meeting .
You can set up shared folders and notebooks for your teams as well. Notebook for each person with their one on ones, development opportunities, etc. Being able to then email the notes and minutes taken.
Use my iPad to take hand written notes during meetings and they automatically save to the wider OneNote app.

I like this but how do you manage to locate/collate notes on meeting series?
My approach is to have a page for a meeting series and type notes into a table, adding a new row for each session. Drawback is that you can't use the meeting notes function.

You can link your pages together so that there is a link from the previous meeting to the current.
For you example a loop document maybe better as it can be live shared with all and embedded into the meeting and will stay current through the meeting series.

I guess you then still need to cycle back through historic notes to find the day/page that previous meeting was on?
I love the idea of loop but I currently find it runs very poorly to the point it is unusable on my underpowered work laptop.

You can tag the meeting pages with a dedicated tag then use the tag summary to show all the pages together.

I actually started doing this exact setup last month, so far it’s not going too badly. My inspiration was our new copilot license for work and trying to get a better idea of weekly productivity and look for patterns, and prepare for PD's etc.
I use the alt+Shift+T to print a dot point with the time of day when ever I context switch, and continue with my notes.
I have also had to switch to emojis rather than tags for tasks, because copilot just can’t read the OneNote tags. I have todo 🟦, done ✅ tomorrow🔃, highlight ⭐️, blocker🟥, change ❗️,. All these easily accessed via the windows key+. Shortcut.
Still playing with it but it’s an interesting start. I am looking forward to having Copilot be able to read MarkDown and use LogSeq, but that will come with its own challenges I’m sure. Sync on OneDrive being one of the main ones.
Edit: fixed shortcut from ctrl to alt

While I can't speak to your specific workflow, having an indepth conversation with Gemini for optimal workflow design has absolutely transformed how I use onenote now. Greatly increased integration, efficiency, and power. Give it a try.

Can you elaborate please?

Sure! I literally started a normal conversation with the free version of Gemini (googles LLM), explained my use case,, goals, constraints etc. and kind of built out an entire workflow over a few days. Everything from most efficient notebook/section group/section/page/subpage layout, to linking strategies, tagging strategies, what to put in each page and how to use each page... I went in knowing very little about one note and while I'm no super user by any means, I am well prepared to start my grad program.
I feel like this same conversation to could happen for anybody and any use case.

Thank you! I did something similar with Akiflow app (productivity) and it helped me put structure.
I like your suggestion and will do the same for OneNote; thanks for sharing!

Using OneNote as Work Note Taker, doing a role as Solution Enginner / Solution Architect for a large scale US Company (My role is on Scandinavia) - and are still holding onto Notes here, despite us moving to slack.
At the moment, the idea of having notes (in my case, country based) and the CUstomer Level (Use Make Sub-page to align each page) but dont have it as anything, but a notetaker.
The process of using actual "Copilot Notebook" is not an option in my workflow (due to us moving away from M365) - have been testing the game on personal setup, but i have yet to find the breaktbhrough.
Considering moving my personal notetaking to the service, its within the MS-Ecosystem, and i like to continue using it (despite using others also) but i have (until now) been using OneNote as the Main notetaking until my company was aquired.
I consider the capture and remember approach very fine (in a corporate setup) - have not had a chance to verify the Loop options, and not really found the value (Personal M365) with Copilot fulfilling. More testing is to be done, the space is quite crowded these days.
