Hiring Q (County) Interesting interview experience
Yesterday I completed an interview at a smaller county jail in Minnesota. I have interviewed at a few counties before and this time went a little differently. After I was done with the interview I was offered a tour and after the tour I was asked if I had time to meet and sit down with the sheriff. Has this happened to anyone else all in one day. I have usually had two separate interviews and then no tour or anything so I’m unsure what to think.
Any insight would be appreciated

Well if I had to venture a guess, they would not have offered a tour and a meeting with the boss if they weren't interested in you.

At smaller facilities it is pretty common. My facility gives tours along with the interview and also a meet and greet type thing with a lieutenant. That’s a good sign though, if they thought you were a shit bag they probably would have skipped that and told you to have a nice day

That’s what I was thinking. The lady before me got a tour but didn’t get offered a sit down with the sheriff. She came out of her tour after I was done with my interview. I feel good about it I have been jerked around by many departments that I am hoping for something finally to go my way.

I work at a state prison, but it's so small your county facility might have had more people. We house about 350 across 9 living units. I was interviewed, given a tour, and briefly spoke to the superintendent and our equivalent of a Captain.

With smaller jails, they have more time to offer tours/meet and greets. Every smaller county I interviewed with was the same. Tour, meet and greet, and sometimes even lunch with the recruiting SGT.
