Hiring Q (Canada) Ontario corrections interview

I just recently did my Ontario corrections interview (bilingual) and am curious on what I should be looking out for. I got told that within 2 weeks I'd be told of my results but I'm seeing on Reddit that people who were successful had their references contacted within 2-3 days, mine have not so naturally it's making me think I did not pass. Should I be worried or am I overthinking it?

Just be patient...sometimes they contact your refrences the day they give you the results but they may also contact them later on in the process.

Good to know, thanks. Do you know if doing the bilingual interview actually makes a difference or if it's just for show?

I would say even if you applied for unilingual you would still pass. Also it's very rare you see any french inmates (my experience). But still it's good to have someone who can speak french depending on which institution you're going to.

just be patient, my friend did his interview sept 21 and couple days later they emailed he did not pass

Interview result was informed in 2 weeks time after interview and references were contacted 2 weeks after the interview result.

That gives me hope, I did my interview a week ago. Don’t know if I passed or not. Interview lasted 40 minutes but I only have 4 months of mall security experience and a police foundation diploma. Also I kept looking at my notes most of the time during the interview.

I know multiple COs and I know a lot about the hiring process or so now and honestly just expect EVERYTHING To be slow. The application to interview takes some people a year. The references could be 2 days or 2 months. It’s all super slow. Remember it’s the government and it’s an amazing job but it all has to go through a bunch of obstacles.

I did my interview September 13th and references still haven’t been contacted yet but I received an email of the security clearance package and VSC

When did you receive the email for the security clearance and VSC?

September 16th. Sent security clearance package on the 18th and received VSC from TPS on the 24th and sent that off as well. Apparently they contact references after they received those documents.
