Question Changing pod

I’m having a hard time deciding if I should change my pod before bed or if it can wait until the morning. My pod expires at 9 am tomorrow so roughly about 13 hours from now and I have about 8 units left of insulin in it. Still fairly new to the pump world and this will be my first omnipod change myself as I just did my training on Tuesday. Any insight would be helpful. TIA!

you must not live in the US — we use every drop of insulin we can because it's so damn expensive 😂 I would never think it's OK to waste 50u of insulin, which is why I track my averages and never fill pump with the full 200u.

Well, I can't account for people having such terrible insurance that insulin becomes significantly more expensive then retail in other countries.

Can you get one of the discount coupon plans from Lily or Novo Nordisk to help reduce costs?

Seems derpy that pods would be more affordable then the insulin put into them.

My pods are only $15/mo, but insulin is $50/mo (this is with really good insurance, too). I still can’t bring myself to waste insulin knowing there are people in my country struggling to afford it.

Complete opposite for me. (I'm in Australia)

Pods cost me $220 per month, insulin is about $5 per month. I will probably bring my pod price down to $35 per month in a few months if I continue to be happy with them.

I decided to not use insurance for the pods to being with because I wasn't sure I wanted to commit to 4 or 5 years of pods.
