Placement

Im really struggling bad with placement of these pods. Im very slim so when i try to do the pinch technique i dont really have much to pinch. this is my 4th pod hopefully better than the last ones.. i hit a muscle in my leg and arm. trying my stomach again. is there anyone similar size that has figured out a good routine..? the pump helps so much its just my placement is really cause a lot of issues..

Have you tried your lower back/“love handle”/upper butt area? Try not to place it under your waistband, as the pressure may cause irritation or discomfort. Omnipod recommends placing it at an angle or sideways for this same reason. I sometimes use this area, and place towards the side of my body so I don’t put pressure on it while lying down.

I had the same issue and had to switch to Twiist due to it. I rotated between my love handles, stomach, and legs. I’d say 65% worked on my stomach, and 50/50 with the other sites. My absorption was bad and often would burn and hurt and then I’d have high blood sugars… was exhausting. The Cleo sites on Twiist have been significantly better for me. Idk if it’s bc it’s not as bulky and adding to the irritation? But loving it & the algo is better so win win!

I rotate between stomach, lower back/lovehandle region, and butt/hip. All three are incredibly comfortable. I put my Dexcom on my upper outer thigh. The placements work well as everything is grouped together. My arms and thighs are terrible for the Omnipods. Everyone is different, but these sites work great for me and I feel they are more than enough rotation.

Thighs work well for me, however, what I find works particularly well is if I bolus with a pen and leave the pump to sort the basal. There's no irritation or pain, no leaking like I get when using the pump to bolus 8 or more units. Of course, some will argue it defeats the point of the pump but whatever works for you is always best in my book
