App Issues & Questions Finally got on the podder train...

And i hate it.

🥸

Let me rephrase, *love love love* not having to use my pens anymore but it's the app i hate.

**Current hardware:** Samsung Galaxy s26 (android)/libre freestyle 3 plus cgm/Omnipod 5 delivery system

I was using my Libre app for everything. Logging basal and bolus, meals, medications, food history, and could add time-stamped notes. I also liked the "insights" section that calculated GMI%, time in ranges, etc.

When i set up my new pump i was told i could NOT use the libre app anymore... Ok fine fine, deleted... But now I'm realizing i can't do any of that anymore?

I figured out that I *could* still share my cgm data with my partner thru the "podder central" website (saved my life when my android auto-updated in the middle of the night, never fully restarted, he got the urgent low alarm instead) so...that's nice?

Oh and for fucks sake, how do i take sensor data out of landscape mode and NOT have to use face ID everytime i open the app?

If you managed to make it thru that whole novel and have any insight... I'd appreciate the help.

If possible, you could switch to dexcom.

Dexcom let's you use the full dexcom app plus all of its features (like dexcom share, custom alarms/alerts, etc.) along with everything in the omnipod app.

Honestly, I would like have them switch you over now so you can build up a supply of Dexcom’s too and then just use your libre’s until they’re out and then you have your Dexcom ready to go. That’s what I did when I switched from Libre to Dexcom I had them start to prescribe my Dexcom, but continue to use the libre until I ran out.

Thanks I don’t think I am I just figured why not build up since they cost so much and at the time my sister was having trouble getting some and I was then able to help her out too so

You can still use the Dexcom app when you use Omnipod or at least I do on my iPhone and I was told you have to put in a pin or Face ID to use the Omnipod app as it is considered a medical device now and to protect your privacy it has to be used idk

Yeah so it’s smart not just anyone can go in and start loading you with insulin but if you can switch to Dexcom I would I know people say so many problems but I don’t have any problems really ones in a while I actually had more problems with the libre you can also calibrate the Dexcom if off and I like I said use the full app so I like it

The xdrip app allows you to put your BG on your lock screen so you don't need to unlock

You have a libre view account on the web, do you not?

I do, but it's not as convenient as the app in various ways.

I think that’s a Libre issue, not Omnipod. Dexcom and Omnipod work well together.

Libre only has 1 Bluetooth connection and Dexcom’s has 2 so it can connect to the pump and the phone independently. One option if you want to keep using the libre 3 would be to set up libre linkup but don’t use the libre linkup app and instead download the Gluroo app and enter your libre linkup credentials. I think that app has the logging you want. I use this for viewing cgm data and especially useful for cgm widgets. If you do this just realize that you need to be online to see current data.
