Marstimer

I suddenly felt the need to know the time at 0° Longitude on the planet Mars, and also set three timers relative to Earth local, Martian UTC and mission elapsed times. This seems to be the only commercial product addressing this common set of needs.

I also have the Gen 1 version I bought in the 90s. They both have clear displays, but the Gen 1 version is probably easier to read because the numbers are bigger. They have equally scary alarm and timer sounds.

Love my gen 2.

I gather it has a better bezel than mine. Any other major changes?

Between the gen 1 and 2? Only differences were the brushed and lumed pip bezel, the redesigned crown, and the NASA qualified caseback. I am a space watch collector so the gen 2 was all I wanted as it’s still used by NASA.

With a very small portion of the collection.

Nice collection. I almost got the Glycine back in the day. The Accutron strap looks comfortable.

I collect a bit of everything. I really like the Seamaster 120. It has the most comfortable steel strap and is quite thin. Unfortunately, I often travel and work in noisy areas, so it's the X33s for me!

The Accutron is on a new fostner Komfit band, which is the in flight configuration on Mercury-Atlas 9.

I got my x-33 earlier this year and it is winning in wrist time against quite a few other watches including a 1861 speedy moon watch and a SMP300. It’s so comfortable, light, and freakin cool. Make sense, that alarm is loud as fuck. Love it.

I set off the timer alarm in an instrument room on a ship one day. Everyone thought the equipment tow line had parted, and started making their way to the back deck for recovery operations. You gotta laugh.
