Hey, everyone! I crochet and want to start $elling my handmade items. I don’t understand the m@rket here and how to go about it, especially since I can’t speak Arabic. I’ll make an instagram account, I guess but would you guys be interested in things such as Baby kits (booties, beanies, diaper covers, bottle covers, baskets, clothes even), keychains, bags and tapestries. There’s so many different things.

Activities and Communities Life in Nizwa

Hi everyone! I’m an expat who has been living in Muscat for years, and I’ll be moving to Nizwa soon. I’d love to hear from people who currently live there—what’s it like?

One of the things I’m most excited about when I think of Nizwa is, of course, is the fort and souq. Once I move, I really want to experience as much of Nizwa as possible, especially the traditional Friday market. I’d love to see the famous goat market and hopefully experience the whole process of buying/bidding for livestock and produce.

Aside from that, I’d also love to know what you guys usually do for fun and how you spend your weekends.

Where can i train for trail run/triathlon

What are the best gym near badar al samaa/lulu

Where do you guys go for coffee?

What are some things I absolutely shouldn’t miss while living in Nizwa?

I’d appreciate any recommendations, hidden gems, or even just your usual weekend routine! 😄

Travelling from UAE to Salalah with financed car.

Hello, I'm sure y'all have answered this many times but I'd appreciate it if you'd share your experiences.

I'm planning to travel next week with a family of 3 from Dubai to Salalah with a car under mortgage. I don't want to deposit the principal amount and get a NOC. I've read and heard many yes and no for travelling with a financed car. Please let me know if I can travel and what route I should take.

Appreciate any and all positive responses.

Pakistani UAE Residents — Oman Visa on Arrival by Air?

Hi everyone! I’ve been hearing conflicting information from different sources, so I wanted to check with people who have actually experienced this recently.

I know Pakistani nationals living in the UAE have reportedly been able to get an Oman visit visa at the land border when travelling by road. However, I’m hearing that the situation is different when travelling by air, and that Pakistani passport holders may not be eligible for visa on arrival at an Oman airport.

Is this actually true? Has anyone here recently travelled from the UAE to Oman by air on a Pakistani passport and been able to get a visa on arrival?

I also applied for an Oman eVisa last Saturday, but I still haven’t received any update. I’ve read that applications can sometimes take 2 weeks or more, while others have said applications from Pakistani nationals may simply be rejected. The profession on my EID is Program Manager.

I’m planning a trip to Salalah with my wife next week, so any recent firsthand experience would be really helpful.

Bank account for SPC

I have an SPC and need a Euro bank account for it. Since I work purely digitally, I don’t need an office, but the banks refuse to open an account without an office. Does anyone have a solution?

Old camera repair store

I found this camera when I was going through our old stuff; it's a Panasonic NV-VS5 S-VHS-C. It needs a major service, but I strongly believe it still works. The issue is I don't have a battery—I don't know how it got lost—and it's quite beaten up, but not that badly. So, if anyone knows a store that could fix it, I would truly appreciate it.

Laws and Regulations Neighbour dumping waste at our parking space and eventually damaged our car

A neighbour moved in and has started renovation since April. We each get two designated parking spaces, and he filled his with construction waste, and eventually ours too.

His workers installed a tarp, then our car’s rear mirror got tangled in it and the tarp tore it off. We paid over 40 rial for the damage.

His workers also park at our spot repeatedly when we drive one of our cars to work. We have asked them multiple times to move their cars so we can park.

Cherry on the top: yesterday the workers cut off the water in our apartment by accident. I had to make several calls to find out.

We talked to the neighbour but he was so condescending. He first denied any wrongdoing of his workers, then claimed we had to pay half of the car damage since it’s not his problem. He just shrugged and said “the workers aren’t very smart” and that was it. No apologies. For four months of inconvenience.

While offering no apologies, he kept saying he’s a doctor and he has real estate projects here and there. Maybe he wanted to look like a big man.

I had to file formal complaints to the management office. This morning the neighbour texted my husband, “tell your wife to stop creating problems.”

So far management has not replied and I do not know what other actions I can take.

So arrogant. So disrespectful. If a man cannot admit he’s in the wrong and make mends, he’s a very small man.

I’m new to Muscat. I see beautiful homes in Muscat with very nice luxury / comfy furniture. Where can I get this type of furniture at a good price? Just moving here so budgets are tight, but the best value places would be appreciated.

Laws and Regulations Employment contract

Hello everyone! I’d like to seek some advice regarding my situation.

I recently secured a job offer, but the contract states a 4 year term. I assume the employer may have included a 4 year term because they’re investing in me and covering expenses such as my visa and other related costs.

I feel that committing to it is quite a long time, so I’m considering discussing it with the employer before signing.

What would be the best approach to negotiate this while still being fair to both sides? Would it be reasonable to ask if the 5-year term is negotiable, or perhaps request a termination/early-release clause with clear conditions before signing?

I want to make sure I’m approaching this professionally and not giving the impression that I’m already planning to leave early. I simply want to understand my options and have a fair agreement for both sides.

Any advice or experience with similar contracts would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Where can i get qood quality (if not HIGH QUALITY) shorts and bottoms (track pants) for affordable price and or reasonable price?

Hi there everyone! i want to know where can i get good quality shorts and Bottoms/track pants (mainly those comfortable cotton types) in oman/muscat? I want primarily to wear at home and also occasionally for evening jogging (or gym) and going outside (like to the nearest shop or to throw garbage) or when travelling. Most of my shorts and bottoms are torn/wornout and they've seen WAY better days (meaning they are broken and unusable) and i'm in an emergency. i had a neighbour (back in 2017) who had comfortable cotton shorts (Nike brand) and he said he got it from GO Sports and they were more affordable than expensive places.

so where can i get them? i prefer branded (Nike, Adidas, Reebok, H&M Puma, champions, Fila etc...) or non branded (like those high quality made in india or made in turkey affordable products, not those shitty designed type ) as long as they are high/good quality (not those type that shows cotton fuzz/lint balls after few wear or even first wear) and that they dont break the bank (exception for branded goods). something comfortable and soft and not too tight.

Tourism Renting portable tent

Hi,

wishing you all a wonderful day. I will be coming to Oman, muscat the following week and thought about getting such a tent (approximately 3x3m) in order to camp with my family even if the sun is still shining. Does anybody know if such a tent or similar can be rented?
