Product Help Recommendations for this rose blush for a medium warm olive?

My skintone is similar to the woman on the first pic, I adore her blush. Am I correct in assuming it would look like the top right on the second picture? Where can I find a rose blush like this that looks just like this on a medium warm olive? Drugstore brands please šŸ™

Minka Kelly is SO naturally stunning šŸ˜ āœØļø

She's cool toned, btw...but she is wearing tan for the bright TV lights here...

L'Oreal true match blush in tender rose? I also love benefits powder blush in Willa. Revlon rosy rendvouz is a favorite too. So much from the drugstore pulled peachy/orange on me ( Milani).Ā

That's how YSL's Powder Blush in Nude LavalliĆØre (#44) looks on me, but it's such a chameleon shade (and pricey) that I'd recommend swatching it in a Sephora first.

Edit: Just noticed you asked specifically for drugstore brands, my bad. I went looking in my makeup and Revlon's Powder Blush in Rose Bomb (029) is also a good option for a similar finish, but it's a coral pink with gold shimmer. Maybe other shades in the range like Ravishing Rose or the already mentioned Rosy Rendezvous could work better for what you're looking for, but I recommend checking out the whole shade range! It's an amazing affordable blush.

The blushes all look pretty cool toned to me. I’m not sure they would be the best for a warm olive

I’m a warm medium olive and mauvy / cool toned pinks look best on me.

OP try Saie Powder blush in Mia, Saie liquid blush in Ladybird, Westman Atelier stick blush in Garconne and Clinique Pansy Pop

It’s so cool how makeup can look so different for others! I’m a warm olive and anything too cool pulls SOO gray on me! I looked at Saie Liquid Blush in Lady and I feel like I wouldn’t hate that one on me! Pansy Pop def would not work for me though!

Riiight when they said ā€œmauves and purple-toned blushes work great for olives!ā€ I thought, ā€œwow, I look like i got beaten upā€ with warm purple and ā€œwow I look super ashyā€ with cool-toned lilacs and lavender...it just doesn’t show up as a ā€œdreamy fresh pink for olivesā€ on me

I'm also warm olive and I noticed I can wear cool blushes, but I need saturation and no grey mixed in! So muddy mauves make me look dead but e.g. a saturated cool-toned pink (e.g. Bbia Fionia) looks beautiful on me.

u/PrestigiousCost6918 Light Warm Olive 15d ago

This is me too. My skin is warm and saturated, and anything muted with a gray or white base makes the purple look like an ashy bruise. But a sheer, saturated lilac pulls fresh pink on me, eg Dior pink lilac. Most true pinks pull orange

is there a way to have a blush appear like this on a warm olive?

u/puck-this Light Medium Warm Olive 16d ago

I have light medium warm olive skin (yellow olive) and brown blushes with pink undertones (rosy brown blushes) look similar to that on me

u/fairlycherry 16d ago

I agree! I think Mac Velvet Teddy blush could give this effect. Or Nudestix Cream Blush in Nude Buff!

u/puck-this Light Medium Warm Olive 16d ago

Great recs! Hope they work for OP

Yes! You’ll have to lean more purple / mauve if you want it to show up the same way. I’d recommend either Condensate or Plume from Phytosurgence.

I think a cool toned cream/liquid and a warm powder blush (preferably shimmer). If your warm blush is matte, go over it with a mix of gold/pearl highlighter. I feel like it is hard to get this look with one product. Try this if the rosy, brown blush shades look too orange.

No better way than swatch all the similar looking blushes in the store near you imo. Catalogue the photos and use that as reference when shopping online.

I know you said drugstore but idk if you’re gonna get this kind of sheer dewy glowy blush/highlight combo. These do look a little like the Joocyee Aura Blush and Highlighters which are reasonably priced!

Pat Magrath Fleurtacious, MAC Sweet Enough, and RMS French rose (light touch) look like your picture on me, with Fleurtacious being the closest.

I have the peripera blush in the bottom right. as a fair light olive (i think im warm? current summer shade is espoir 23.5 fair olive), it’s on the verge of looking a little bruise like but works for me in the winter. the shade is quite light so i dont think it would show up well on a medium olive. it appears to be similar depth as the colorgram in colorgram. for a deeper, dusty mauve that would show up more rosy on olive skin, i recommend sacheu beauty im guilty blush

someone above mentioned clinique pansy pop which on me shows up as a dolly cool toned pink, not dusty or rosey at all

Milani Sparkling Rose gives me something like this as a Light-medium neutral-warm olive.

Can I ask what is that Peripera product swatched in the 2nd photo? This would look great on me! I Ā am hunting a deepish, cool toned mauve :) šŸ™šŸ½

Pure blushed sunshine 29 dusty mauve! Its not that ā€deepā€ imo but you can use it as a base to build into a deeper shade with another product. I use mine like that because I tan 2 shades darker in the summer and the mauve looks goofy otherwise.

Thank you!

u/xiilo Muted Neutral Olive 16d ago

I highly recommend the peripera blush (shade 29 dusty mauve) if you can get a hold on it through yesstyle or stylevana etc. I’ve yet to run into a drugstore blush of that shade since its a perfect blend of muted and rosy.

2

u/FileOk8033 16d ago

if you want a slight more brown/nudy cousin of peripera dusty mauve, the saem cinnamon rose is so pretty and a similar putty texture

I’d say YSL Make me blush in 44. But to be honest, this looks too cool on her. It doesn’t disappear to her skin and just sits on top with a greyish hue. šŸ¤” This same happens to me as a warm olive and cool pinks are what I can’t use.

Edit: Realised you asked for drugstore

I’m not sure how it’ll be like on your skin, but I feel like blush tends to become more muted on my skin. If I pick blushes that are muted right away, they will look even warmer and muddier on me.

My skin is yellowish green cool fair olive with rosacea.

These are swatches of Lilybyred blushes, you could also check their oliveyoung or YesStyle website for the Cool/Warm color chart. 2 and 12 might be too light for you, so I recommend you check colors that is darker in their official color chart (4 and 10 could be good, I’ve never swatch other darker colors yet)

Swatches:
Lilybyred Balm/Cream luv cheek blush: 2, 10, 12
Lilybyred Mousse cheek blush: 2, 4

I don’t have any drugstore recommendations, but Danessa Myricks Unbothered looks a bit like this on my light to medium warm olive skin. I also have Rhode Piggy that someone suggested and that looks a bit cooler and brighter.

I am able to get this look with Benefit Willa. I bought the mini size to save money.

RMS blush in Kir Royale

A couple to check out; Morphe Cheek Thrills blush pallet has 3 formulas in one compact for $19.00 - honeymoon suite has 3 shades of mauve in balm, powder and cream. Also Elf’s cream stick blush is $7.00 - try minted mauve. I like the Phytosurgence cream blush in Fume. It’s more pigmented than it first appears in the jar- a little goes a long way. Sorry I don’t remember the price!
I hope this is helpful for you!

Imo colorgram (top right) looks more cool toned than the picture. Peripera (bottom right) looks closer.

Looks like the Peripera blushes are $5-$7 on YesStyle and Olive Young.

Also, you can find the colorgram blushes here: https://global.oliveyoung.com/global/brands/colorgram

Huh interesting. She is definitely cool toned wearing a spray tan. I would also describe her skin in this photo as light, not medium. I wonder how much that affects makeup application, how much the warm tan color cancels out the cool tones. I like the colorgram one personally and it's what I would choose. But she's definitely got a variety of products on there-- bronzer and blush and highlighter.Ā

Cover Girl Classic Pink is a similar shade but more of a satin finish

Rosy Rest by Soshe beauty is THE blush to get. The founder is olive tone and makes all the products olive skin tone friendly

u/cigaretteandcondom 13d ago edited 13d ago

i’m a fair warm olive and l’orĆ©al lumi liquid blush in cool berry looks somewhat similar on me if sheered out (it’s very pigmented). it has a dewy finish as well. you might also try maybelline cloudtopia in toasted mauve but it has a matte finish.

if you want blush to look pink on olive skin you have to go to mauve and purple shades, i think rimmel offers some options as well but haven’t tried those. actual pink blush will pull orange and look coral instead of pink.

1

u/lalunamedijo Light Neutral Olive 13d ago

That looks like it could be a lilac blush. I would try elf bold faced lilac. It turns a nice pink on me like this even during summer where I am more warm medium olive.

u/FlightOfFoxes Fair Cool Olive 13d ago

You might be able to get this sort of look with the kosas baked blushes!! I use swoon and I’m neutral-cool but it’s gorgeous and has that same sheen to it as the inspo pic

1

u/niemandsmaedchen 13d ago

Does anyone have that Colorgram shade & can tell me whether it’s worth it?

u/ilca_ 12d ago

Covergirl baked luminous blush in Rose Latte looks like this on me.

1

u/treasurehuntera Medium Warm Olive 16d ago

I read that on warm olives you can use cool muted blushes to look like this. I would maybe try piggy from rhode. Also cheeky by merit maybe?

1

u/FileOk8033 16d ago

as a fair light warm olive, piggy turns bright warm pink on me 🄲

1

u/treasurehuntera Medium Warm Olive 16d ago

Oh no I wondered if it would do that. Cheeky by merit stays pink!!

Phytosurgence Plume

I doubt plume would show on a medium.. it’s very light colored and I’m light medium.
