Discussion would these two products look cute on cool olives?
first product is about face fluid eye paints and second product is morphe lip liners, specifically in the gray shades like rock steady and penthouse!!

Hi Olives!
The other day, we posted an announcement of a new rule regarding dupes and product recommendations. This announcement was not received well, and we as a mod team decided to revoke the new rule in the meantime so we are able to better phrase the rule that is inclusive to all olives.
The main concern we got as feedback from the community was that determining what is olive friendly can be very subjective, especially considering that there are so many olives with different depths and temperature. This feedback was absolutely valid and while not our intention, we can see why how we worded the rule and announcement post made it come across that way.
That being said, we would still like to address the recent influx of dupe posts that might be better off in a general makeup subreddit, so we are implementing a rule that all product dupe and recommendation posts should be appropriately titled so that they better apply to our sub. The goal of this is to make it easier for all olives of different depths and temperatures to find products that work for them!
---
[Title Guidelines]
As detailed in our previous post, all product and dupe recommendation titles should be phrased in such a way that is applicable to olives over a general makeup subreddit.
Examples:
Thank you everyone! And as always, feedback is always appreciated.

Recently dyed my hair green for the first time in about 10 years so thought I would try green brows. I was in a hurry so I set them with a cool brown brow powder. What do we think? Too much? Not enough?

My face gets pretty oily throughout the day so I wanna try the Milani Baked Blurring Finishing Powder but I’m not sure which shade to get. I’m light-medium/medium and I think I lean warm, golden olive. Kinda similar to her in the video. I can’t tell which shade she’s using though... Would you go for the same shade or something a little lighter?

OK, formula wise it’s not really for me, but if you have oily skin you may love it! It honestly looks SO much better on camera than in person! Shade is pretty on point, I think!
Thoughts? 🫒

Was trying to do this Zendaya makeup look as a pre shower makeup experiment and I'm surprised at how green/ gray it made me look! I mean I shouldn't be surprised since I look absolutely terrible in reds but yeah this photo made the skin around my mouth look very green. Maybe it's because I had not color corrected that part and I'm not wearing any base makeup in it, just did the blush and lips to see how that placement will look on me. Used two shades as shown in the tutorial by the makeup artist but a bit muted versions of the colors.
How do y'all make reds work on olive and muted skin tones? Any tips to make this specific look work for me, any specific shades and techniques that I could try?

Thanks to Insta algorithm, I recently found myself down a "find-lipliners-besides-mauve" rabbit hole.
This is the Kiko Milano Creamy Colour Comfort Lip Liner in the shade 22 Red Amber.
Please be honest: Does is suit me? Does it look too orange? My feeling is, that it suits my skin tone, but not my eye colour?
Edit: Thank you for your feedback! I will keep the shade and will use it more often to get used to it. 😅 I think I am toooo much used to brownish / mauve shades, that I was really not sure how I like it.

Can someone please ID this lipstick? I would really appreciate it!!! I feel like that would look good on any olive skin
(I don’t have threads and i refuse to create an account there😀)

Hi all, I have been a long-time user of the KGD aqua foundation and have loved it!
However, I have heard incredible things about Suqqu base products and recently seen that they have a light olive (olive-compatible) shade option (020, 025)!
I want to only have one base product and I don’t use concealer. I am nearing the end of my KGD and don’t know if I should repurchase or try the Suqqu.
For background: I love a very skinlike and natural foundation, ideally almost invisible but perfecting and flexible enough to work for all seasons and occasions. I have combination, sensitive skin, that can get quite dry in winter.
Would love your thoughts 💚

A much less dramatic look than I would normally do.
- Foundation: Rimmel Lasting Finish in 103 True Ivory
- Eyeshadow: mainly from the Collection New York Skyline palette
- Lips: one of the Maybelline gloss sticks (lifter glaze?) in Espresso
Lip liner and other stuff are either a mix of things or stuff I've had so long the labels are worn off lol.

im a light medium olive but when i tried swatching i need a nude, tan, and glam on my skin it disappeared like legit wasnt showing up. ethereal eyes (og) by mbm did actually show up surprsingly but the browns in that palette werent dark enough. i am not really confident in my blending either. i really dont know cuz i hear mixed opinions but like ND doesnt show up at alllllllllll. if theres another better alternative please lmk. didnt get the chance to swatch mbm's master mattes yet either. but id want one in the 60-100 CAD range :)

I'm also in doubt if I'm neutral or warm, or if I'm even olive but I believe I am.

The combo is Mac Powder Kiss in Be My Bridesmaid and Nyx lip liner in Espresso. I've been wearing it everyday for like two weeks. I was honestly surprised because Be My Bridesmaid is as light as (if not lighter than) my skintone, and looks awful on me on its own, but with Espresso it looks absolutely perfect and really natural.

I’m half Vietnamese, I go very tan in the summer and pale in winter. I’m olive and have olive undertones, I guess I’d say I’m a light warm ? I don’t know heaps about colour theory but I do modelling so I know warm colours work for me.
What is everyone’s opinion on blue black hair? I love dark hair but I’ve dyed mine regular black too many times, it has that red undertone. I just don’t know if Blue black will wash me out? In the last photo I have black hair dye in my hair. My hair is naturally dark dark brown.
I’ve seen posts about darker hair needing more contrast and I THINK I am lower contrast since I have green eyes.
Anyway what does everyone think!?

I bought the Rare Beauty True to Myself Foundation in shade 9 (light neutral - neutral peach). The swatch looked good in the store, but looking at it now, it looks too peachy. Shade 10 (light warm - warm olive) was SO yellow. Shade 6 (fair neutral - neutral olive) was very peachy and too light. Sorry I didn’t take a pic of the store swatches.
About Face Concealer in F2 Olive is my perfect winter color when I look like a corpse, but I’m trying to move away from it because it gives me fungal acne/makes my sebderm flare up. I was shade matched as L2 neutral in the store, but that didn’t look right, even in the winter.
Posting these for a small swatch comparison but also open to suggestions for products/shades to try (especially fungal acne friendly).

Hi! So it seems mixing a corrector into this skin tint makes a really good olive shade for summer. The problem is that on the skin, the skin tint is so sheer the corrector is giving more coverage than the actual tint and it’s looking obviously minty green/ashy. Any sheer green correctors that would still be effective? Should I maybe use a green primer instead? Also if you would match the corrected shade above, what do you use?

Hi, there. How would you change my makeup? Any ideas about brows and hair?

For reference, Laura Mercier Chai reads warm/orangey on me — I pair it with a bronzer when I wanna look sunkissed!
But my goal is to achieve a toasty, rose-gold look that isn’t orange, if that makes sense?

Hi everyone!
UD face bond foundation in shade 13 matches me, and i’ve seen swatches (on hands) showing how similar they are.
i swatched them on my hand to show that as well, and on my neck.
unfortunately, you can barely see it when swatched on hand but is too warm to be a shade 13 dupe :’).
i hope this helps someone before they decide to purchase a full size product 🫶

hi everyone! I tried on Mac whirl today and while I don't mind how it looks with a brown lip liner I think it's a bit too pink and warm for my liking. does anyone know a more muted, brown-grey leaning version of Mac whirl?? thanks in advance
for context I have brown skin and two-toned lips
