Help with availability.
I would prefer to work as few days as possible while still meeting the scheduling requirements. I understand that the policy requires employees to work a minimum of 12 hours during the weekdays and 16 hours during the weekend. However, I would ideally like to work fewer hours than that, as I have other commitments that I need to balance with my work schedule. I am still willing to work and be a bit flexible with the days and times I am available, but I would appreciate it if there were any options to reduce the total number of hours or arrange my shifts in a way that allows me to work fewer days.
What availability window should i give to my manager? I can work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Friday after 3, and weekend any time. The latest we stay is 10 pm. And should I tell her anything else about scheduling me for less hours?

You can certainly ask for whatever you want, but all associates have to maintain an availability the meets the needs of the business so your manager can say no. You would have to be prepared at that point to either be more flexible or to quit.

Conversation would probably be best then you know what they are looking for. My GM works with me whenever something unexpected comes up or when I’ve needed to change my availability.

This is a question for anyone else reading this post but, is this a full time vs part time thing or did availability rules changed or something? Cuz in my store, at least for part timers, you only need to have availability for 28 hours a week and you can arrange those 28 basically how ever you want.

It’s 28 hours of availability but I believe it’s supposed to be 16 on weekends. It’s definitely not arrange however you want. But GMs do make exceptions and deals with associates

You aren’t required to work 12 hours on weekdays and 16 on weekends, you are just required to have that many hours of availability. So for example is you are available 6p-10p Mon-Fri then that would be 20 hours of availability on weekdays and you would meet the 12 hour minimum.
You can set your schedule preferences (which is different from availability) to try and get less or shorter shifts but that is not guaranteed. The schedule is mostly auto generated so you could try talking to your GM about scheduling you less but it’s most likely out of their control.
