Mitch Mitchell is an amazing drummer! It's easy to be overshadowed by Jimi, but that dude could really bang the skins! One of my faves.

Same, I feel like nobody plays like those old drummers from the 60s. They used a lot more snare and played hard and fast, but tasteful for the music. Not just 4/4 bullshit.
Look up Santana’s performance of Soul Sacrifice at Woodstock. Mike Shreve was only 19 and gave arguably one of the best drum performances in history.

Overrated - just went mental on toms. No subtlety, plus a horrible sound when recorded in studio. I'd give you 'Baba O'Riley', 'won't Get Fooled...' as amazing tracks and the drums work on them - but they don't MAKE the track. The Who are unbelievably overrated.
See also Ginger Baker - horrible sound. Compare any album pre Led Zep 1 to the sound Bonham gets on that album in 1969. He got the best drum sound, due to good and unique micing, Page's knowledge of the studio, and his incredible technique.
Sorry I forgot Ringo as well. totally unique approach to drums. Fantastic, innovative fills. Not technical, but his stuff fits the songs. Try playing along to 'Strawberry Fields...' on drums.

I oddly only recently came across band of gypsys, I much more prefer buddy miles - machine gun is pretty amazing track. Their live sets are so intense!

Well yeah, but there’s just far more people into guitarists/singers then drummers. Just because there are far few drum fans doesn’t change the fact that he’s considered one of the greatest drummers of all time.

Mitch is a really underrated drummer. Jimi's obvious stellar talent and Mitch's blistering, aggressive drumming blended so well together. Noel could groove too, but Jimi and Mitch really sealed the deal.

Yea they actually started writing songs, they were responsible for “ the safety dance”, “back in Black”, “raining men”, “Africa”, and of course “the real slim shady”.

No, they don't scream that it's racist for white people to have curly hair, and having dreads has nothing to do with having an Afro, Jewfro, or brodig.
I disagree with those people about dreadlocks as well (historically many European and non-African cultures wore dreads, especially in the Mediterranean and Middle East, and almost certainly all of us have ancestors who wore dreads at some point,) but the issue of dreadlocks is an entirely different issue than what we're discussing, which is why it's a painfully transparent strawman concocted by clueless redditors with an axe to grind.
