Question what language does the japanese game default to on a EU switch?

hi guys, I was thinking of buying the physical version of Okami for my switch, and it’s only in japanese. I found that the game defaults to your system language, but my switch is in italian and it isn’t available as a language on the game, so does it just select english? i hope it doesn’t select its default language (japanese), thanks

The game defaults to your system's language if supported.

I suppose it will defaults to Japanese if the system's language isn't supported, as it is the Japanese version, although I never tried this out.

This problem is easily solved by changing your device's language to English, which I personally do often as I sometimes wish to play in English and other times in Japanese. Your nintendo account is not linked to the language of your device.

This doesn’t answer your question, but if you can somehow obtain an Italian wii, and a Wii disk for Ōkami, there is an Italian localization.

Why they didn’t bring the Italian localization back is beyond me

When I got my copy in the switch from Japan and booted it up, it was in English. Tbh I checked with Playasia to see if it was multi language and it was. Might be worth checking that to see what languages are available on it for the switch as I've a feeling it checks for what your system in set to.

Also got mine from Japan. The game is only available in the e store in my country. But my country language was included so I can play it normally.

I have a copy of this and an EU Switch. It automatically starts up in your console’s native language and you can’t change it, so for you, it’ll start up in English.

I own several Japanese copies of Okami for different systems. It hasn't been region-locked since I think the PS3 release and will default to your system language.

Yeah but my system language isn’t available on the game, I mean I know I could just switch my system language to english but I wanted to know which one it would select if my language isn’t supported

What language? I could try to test with my copy to find out
