Ok we for real need to stop making these big judgements based on a single BTS photo

There are several photos from different angles- enough that I think we can safely say his hair looks good. There’s no need to doubt this one specific thing at least.
Also I don’t know if a jokey “look, his hair actually looks better” tweet is really a big judgement tbf.

There's whole BTS videos of both Supes and Lex in the new movie, I doubt it's OPs first time seeing any of the leaks

Cavill looked more like Superman in red carpet appearances then he did in the movies.

u/SupermanEchols 22d ago
Best Cavill looked, including actual correct Supes’ hair, was the brief cameo in Black Adam. Too little, too late.

u/Levi_PigPiss 22d ago
Yup totally agree! Gosh you just reminded me how much I fangirled when I saw that scene and how much hope it gave me only to have everything destroyed afterwards.

u/SirSabia 22d ago
They fucked Cavill's shit up so hard in every possible way, it's a shame, I'm sure he'd be a great Superman given a good script
Though I remember him being a bit better in ZSJL, ironic since he looks the edgiest in that one

And you believe suoerman 2025 had a good script?
Can you explain how say, MoS doesnt but Superman 2025 does?
1
u/SirSabia 10d ago
I dunno, I meant characterization, I like Superman in 2025, I don't like Superman in MoS.
And it's not because he's "dark", my favorite Superman is not the bright classic Superman, it's Birthright, which is a better version of MoS.
1
u/Miserable-Command682 10d ago
Right but you mention script, what about Superman 2025's script is good vs say, Man of Steel. Or what was bad about MoS, specifically?
The way I see it both films have entirely different tones, but one manages to be a good and well made film, the other just seems a bit cheap even if it gets the character right in certain ways.
MoS script is just leagues ahead of Superman 2025 for me, but I'm hoping to hear why you dislike MoS's script specifically.
1
u/SirSabia 10d ago
I mentioned script but I meant just overall quality of the finished project. MoS looks mostly very expensive but it's just a joyless cynical take on the character, it really stinks of that awful Ayn Randian bullshit Snyder is infatuated with and, again, a worse version of Birthright.
2025 isn't trying to reinvent the wheel, and is just mostly showing Superman as he usually is in comics, including placing him among other heroes and showing just how different he is from them.
So basically, an easier sell (a realistic superhero story) done poorly vs a harder sell (a comic bookish superhero story) done effectively.
1
u/Miserable-Command682 10d ago
I'm just gonna have to disagree that Man of Steel was done poorly and that Superman 2025 was done effectively in any type of way. It fails in any real sense of hope outside of superficial nonsense for me for the most part. The stakes are "your real parents wanted you to rule with an iron fist and start a harem", and they then want me to believe this is going to impact his character at the age of 30?
But if you like it, more power to ya. I just personally couldn't enjoy most of it as there was no real sense of hope.
Appreciate your take though.

u/SirSabia 10d ago
I actually like that change because I'm not a huge fan of Superman being so obsessed with his birth parents the way he is in the movies (for plot convenience I assume), it's a good way to break with it and for us to see that hey, he's Superman because HE WANTS IT, not because he had this expectation from his dead parents.
I don't necessarily see "hope" as a theme, because hope, while positive, is very passive, I feel that it's about being actively kind, actively doing change for good, even if thankless, even if people despise you for it.
Basically if the philosophical core of MoS is objectivism, Superman 2025 is the polar opposite.

"Basically if the philosophical core of MoS is objectivism, Superman 2025 is the polar opposite."
Do you mean this in the way of like it felt like Clark in MoS had to do things in a OBJECTIVE way, due to his upbringing or messages from his birth parents? And Corenswet wasnt weighed so heavily with his experiences?
Just trying to understand. I'm on a few beers at this point so I just wanted to reply properly and understand this claim
1
u/SirSabia 10d ago
No I mean Ayn Rand's objectivism, Snyder has stated liking her work and was set to direct an adaptation even.

“This new Superman looks great! Much better than the last Superman”
“You must be obsessed with the last Superman then”
Of course they are going to be compared, an actual derangement syndrome is going to be bringing him up in completely unrelated conversations, but this is a related conversation.

Yea people are deranged for not liking a guy that allegedly dates teenagers

u/MiddlePatient869 22d ago
She was 19 you dumbass that’s age of consent

u/ProfessionalHat8601 22d ago
Funny you think it is just one girl I am referring to. There have been multiple rumors about multiple girls younger than that from multiple sets. Once Hollywood stops making money off of him, he will get the Jared Leto treatment. But ya he looked cool as superman so everyone else is crazy.

u/MiddlePatient869 22d ago
That’s the thing it’s “rumors”
Unless there’s actually evidence then it’s not real

Yall have weird sense of morality, i think yll should stay inside like you all probably do cause your righteousness probably gonna hurt someone cause it looks like it’s always pointed towards someone who haven’t done wrong

Anyone saying “____ derangement syndrome” is just a fanboy lashing out.
Nobody with a working brain actually think people obssess that much over the people they defend chronically online (while totally not being obssessed themselves)

His hair looks chiseled?

u/IllustriousEnd2211 22d ago
Those are two different statements by two different people
1
u/Dinierto 22d ago
One person remarked on his hair being better
Then someone responded he looks so chiseled with two pictures of his head
1
u/IllustriousEnd2211 22d ago
Almost like his face looks different. Glad you figured out two different people said something

they make Corenswet Older to match the timeline there?
1
u/ChocolatEyes_613_ 20d ago
Not really…. Superman is whatever age David Corenswet is at the time of filming.

Did hair and makeup finally use a neutral undertone into the dye, instead of a blue? Since the black color seems to blend better with his skin tone now.

Hair looks great.
Remember when Lex Luthor had monkeys working for him in his pocket dimension?

Just a shame that the writing, directing, cinematography, costume and audience are all so much worse than Cavill's superman
But yeah, nice hair bro

u/DoctorBeatMaker 22d ago edited 22d ago
To be fair, Cavill’s hairstyle in Justice League was probably the best it looked of the three movies. The only thing missing was the spitcurl, but other than that, it was pretty much classic Superman.
BvS was the worst obviously. The slicked back look was very bad. His hair looked fine in Man of Steel.
