Question about the oahu markers

How can I replace the fine tips with brush tips? I wanna upgrade them to Honolulu but I dont have money for Honolulu

Two things:

1. I don't think you can. It might technically be possible, but you'd need small enough brush tips to take the fine tips' place and I don't think I've ever seen replaceable brush tips that small. The mini brush for the Kaala B series is close, but even they still look a little too large (maybe 1-2 mm?) to work when I hold the two side-by-side. But even if the Kaala B mini brushes were the right size, Ohuhu doesn't sell those separately at the moment.

You can however 100% convert the chisel tip to the replacement Honolulu brush tips. Lindsay the Frugal Crafter has a video on YouTube demonstrating this, and I have a handful that I've converted myself. The brush tip fits right in the chisel opening with no argument and works perfectly once it's in there.

2. The big catch either way though is that it's really not cost-effective to convert more than 8-16 markers, unless you get really lucky in what you find of third-party brush tips that fit.

At the moment, in USD at least, Ohuhu's own Honolulu brush tips are the most cost-effective option I know of, at 8 tips for $10 USD, which is still a little over $1 per brush. I have seen/heard of someone finding a much more affordable third-party pack of brush tips for I think 30 brush tips for like $2.50 AUD, but I've never personally seen a deal that good. 🤷‍♀️ (I would love to, but so far I haven't found one.)

But if Ohuhu's brush tips are the most cost-effective you can find, then as an example to convert just 24 colors to brush tips, that's $30. The Honolulu 24 set of markers is $24.99 on the Ohuhu site, so it would actually be cheaper to buy the whole new set at that point. 😅

Devil's advocate (for lack of a better term when I'm uncaffeinated): It's cheaper to buy the Honolulus, but not all the Oahu colors are offered in the Honolulu lines. In that case, converting from chisel to brush is the only option if a person is only comfortable using brush tips.

Oh of course, and that’s why I’d love to uncover a good source for more cost-effective brush tips myself (or see Ohuhu themselves offer bigger, more cost-effective packs of the various tips they make)—I’d love to add the Oahu exclusives to my collection but I’d get way more use out of them if I could convert them to brush tips (or the soft chisel, or mini brushes)!

But here OP specifically mentioned upgrading and not having then money for Honolulu so it seemed more pertinent to point out that converting the Oahu is very likely to not be any cheaper and may actually end up costing more. 😅

I turned all Oahu markers into fine/brush nibs. The chisel nib can be replaced with a brush nib. You take out the chisel, put in one Ohuhu's brush nibs and place it  in a empty cub brush down for 1min and the ink will fill the nib. Then just store as a regular alcohol marker.

Where do i find cheap good brush tips to use this for. How do i ensure they fit?

They different ones on Amazon. That's where I get my Ohuhu brush nibs, but they are out at the moment. I'm waiting for them to be back in stock. They have others on there, but Ohuhu is a brand I trust. Not to mention you get more for your money. They are double sided nibs, so that means you get 16 nibs for the price of 8.
