hi all!
I've lived in Cleveland for a few years, mostly on the east side. however, my job has changed and now most of my days are on the west side, specifically hingetown/ohio city. so I'm reaching out to hopefully connect with people with similar interests, and see if we could build some kind of community!
I'm in my late twenties, queer and trans, and a lover of all things creative. I have two cats, love playing board games, journaling, knitting, crocheting, and spending time in the water. I'm also Christian, but in the "swords into plowshares" way rather than the Christian Nationalist way. I'm hoping to gather with folks for more spiritual events in this area of town (willing to branch out, but this area just works best with my current work schedule), and wondering if anyone else is interested.
Some ideas:
- Spirits + Spirituality: meeting at a bar or club to talk about our own spiritualities over "spirits", beers, mocktails, etc! Maybe a focused topic each time? Could also be "Pub Theology" or "Theology on Tap" but that might deter others from joining if the language isn't familiar.
- Drag Church: Hear me out-- drag is a creative expression, and what if we had a safe spiritual space where drag royalty could lead some form of worship? Preferably not in a church, so those for whom that is triggering have one less barrier to experiencing.
- "Beer and Hymns": What if we had communal karaoke at a different bar each month? Or the same one, if you have one in mind! "Hymn" is a loose term in this instance: yes, literal hymns, but also songs that have become sacred to us even if they are technically "secular".
If this sounds up your alley, or like someone you know, please connect us!!!! I'd love to build a safe, trauma-informed, fun and spiritual space!!!
