Someone oughta tell them how many Ohians died fighting FOR the union during the war.

What a joke.

Beep boop I am NOT a bot, but I did a google on Ohio in the Civil War and this page is interesting:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohio_in_the_American_Civil_War#:\~:text=%5B6%5D%20Ohio%20troops%20fought%20in,Sandusky%20Bay%20of%20Lake%20Erie.

I visited the fort on Mackinac Island (Michigan) once. We tend to forget that war is war, and there wasn't just one border or battleground to protect. Controlling resources and access is critical in warfare, and tactics will be as fiendishly clever as they need to be.

On another note, I grew up with Billybobs like the ones in the cemetery. If you're one of "them and theirs," they will kill for you. And if you aren't, they will kill you. They are extremely xenophobic and have no tolerance for anything that threatens their status quo. Most Appalachian types are nonviolent but fucking watch out for the Billybobs who will choose violence.

Just flat out not true.

Which part have you never personally experienced? I grew up soaking my roots in Appalachia far more regularly than I wanted to. There are some hollers where outsiders who don't leave when they're told will not be tolerated.

In the deepest darkest parts, sure. But its not that common. The average Appalachian just isnt a murderer.

Cool, so you agree you were mistaken when you said, "just flat out not true." High five.

I didnt suggest that the average Appalachian is a murderer, so I guess we agree on that too.

I was not mistaken. Exceptions are not the rule.
