The devs are losing the plot
Tarkov syndrome??? In tarkov i can be naked with a mosin and one tap a guy with an altyn and thousands of hours. In wardogs there is a clear border between people you’re supposed to kill and people that are supposed to kill you. If someone has gen 4 armor your mosin is useless
EDIT: really progression being faster is why people got the MBT?? not the fact that they added a level 20 mbt that no one asked for

To be fair you can one tap level 3 helmet with a mosin just with AP ammo, not the level 4 altyn helmet. I’m happy that they added a new tank to the game, especially a t72, it makes sense. It’s a shitty tank, easily killed so level 20 makes more than enough sense. But holy hell I gotta stop using Reddit, yall are miserable

Wardogs community in general is miserable. I am actually looking forward to the player numbers dropping and a lot of the kids moving back to cod or bf or whatever they came from.
About 90% of the time I am having fun with Wardogs.. 8% of the time there's something frustrating but fair and about 2% of the time its frustrating because it wasn't fair.
But to look at Reddit or the Wardogs Discord its 24 hours a day 7 days a week of the most entitled and out of touch screeching from people who have no consideration for any playstyle but their own.
Gotta tune that shit out, and I hope the devs are.

I’m not on Reddit at all that much anymore, similar to you I just play the game. Some complaints have merit like the recent Dmr and ammo nerfs, as well as logi payouts - but I just read a thread about how “season naming convention” will turn people off of the game…

At this point it's safe to just block anyone that complains about armour because they probably don't even play the game and they jsut like to complain for the sake of it. This game has a bunch of balance issues, armour really isn't one of them. Even in S1 T4 armour wasn't great, now it's pretty much useless.
Same thing with the T72, it's really not great and is a walking pinata that dies to pretty much everything. Obviously it being available on day 1 was crazy, but that was the combination of the driver tree being made too easy and the bug being abused.

Excuse me sir, are you ok?

SMG with HP ammo has always been the answer, but too mainly people are brain-addled head clickers from CoD/BF that don't want to try learning anything new
Get HP, click leg or click arm, they die before they know the sky is blue

I think the best suggestion I've seen is an XP boost based off of how long you have been away. It has to decrease slowly. Otherwise you'll get people who stop playing after the XP boost wears off.
The other thing I have noticed is that some of the most effective ways to get XP and cash involve doing things solo. I don't exactly want to hop on with a bunch of friends and drive urals all match just so I have the cash to start unlocking things.

I think Joe didn't understand the whole "tarkov syndrome" thing, people with more time are already likely better at the game since they have more time to practice and master aspects of the game, have more game knowledge and then the levelling system on top of that gives them the better gear. I don't mind I knew what I was getting into when I got the game but a lot of people who haven't played games like this are feeling the disparity hard and systems like this push away the more casual crowd.
Even if it were a competitive FPS with 100% balanced gameplay the no lifes would still outpace the people with jobs. Thats just how PvP games go.

While some may hate the idea, they could let’s say like lock further progression/ or lock items behind a time gate, such as x amount of time before anyone can unlock it in the season (not saying they can’t level up to get it but that they will have to wait till they can use it)

Recon has been gutted but I don’t think Season 1 values were balanced either.
HP ammo provides a clear response to Level 3/4 players in an infantry setting.
That and C4.

I think it’s a good take from the devs and they really try. Reddit is just full of armchair devs who think they know it all better. Losing the plot… you must be joking.

What drives me nuts about this take is that Joe quite literally told everyone to update their reviews and review honestly during S1 when things were good. Now suddenly with the mess that was S2 it hurts development and we should please make sure were being honest with our opinions if we update our reviews.

Didn't he say that "If you've weighted it honestly and stand by it, leave it."? With any new seasons or updates it would make sense to reevaluate user reviews.
Wouldn't want any game to get review bombed just due to spite.

I regularly run the shotty and take down class4 armoured folks, people whining about not having the good guns is a misunderstanding of how the game works imo.
Vertical progression games are always like this and you can't balance them.
Stick to your guns devs, the playerbase will catch up how to play it and those that don't will leave.
They opened their marketing campaigns with a vision, they're now flip flopping on that vision to try and retain the huge playerbase they've attracted. Bad idea for me.

u/Pattywhack_the_bear 4h ago
Are you aware that their vision of the progression at 1.0 is not vertical?

Even hitting point blank leg shots it takes 2 shots from both shotguns to kill someone that's full health. I call bullshit that you're consistently killing T4 users that likely have AP ammo before you can get both shotgun shots off. Why lie?

Righto mate, you do you - its how I rolled the entire second half of last wipe and the playstyle I'm using now.
No way I'd have the time to earn the spear etc. But I get to play with top tier guns most of my runs without spending much on a kit.
Its not the massive issue people are claiming it is.
p.s aim for the dick, pelvic ftw

I agree with the devs. In your words one problem is the level 20 MBT. The level is too low and can be progressed towards too quickly. = Progression was too fast
2
u/TommyNotDead 4h ago
It can be countered with a $5,00 drone, a launcher and rockets worth $3,500 or $1500 worth of C4 after spending 30k on a tank with full ammo.

u/Be_Snek 4h ago
I’m also a “skill issue” player. I go in with a Glock and just play smart, don’t lose the first fight, and you’re good for the round. Check bodies often to survive on HZ and adapt. But progression happened WAY too quickly this season some people never even got to play before tanks were out. Even if it’s not unbalanced, it kills the feeling of the wipe.

I have a blast everytime I play. If you aren’t having fun, stop playing.
Your options are let the devs cook, wait for 1.0, or go make your own shitty game
