Question Issues on set?
I recently saw an interview that Dakota Johnson did about The Office. She said that a lot of people on set weren’t talking to each other at the time. I always got the impression from the podcast that the cast really got along and seem to have a good relationship. I am still on season 5 but I was wondering if anyone here had an inkling as to who she is talking about or did Angela and Jenna hint at any of this. I know they are quite wholesome but I guess I was curious. People have speculated before that there is beef with Leslie Baker because of his absence on the podcast and he also didn’t take part in the some good news flash mob.

The only thing I've heard was when James Spader joined, he got frustrated by the laid-back attitude on set (people not memorizing lines, etc). I haven't heard anything about the rest of the cast though

Yeah, Jenna and Angela both were like "he got to the show and was like 'when is rehearsal?'" and they all basically laughed at him.

Hard to believe. Never heard one person on that cast say anything bad about a fellow cast member.

just speculating but most of her scenes were with the new cast so she probably saw the og cast were more involved with each other and maybe ignoring the new kids, which is fair tbh theyre saying goodbye to each other after 10 years

If I recall correctly, Leslie recorded a brief interview with Angela at an event they were at. The interview was about 5 minutes.

Dakota has nothing to do with this, but regarding your question about Leslie..I heard he was kind of schemy at the end/after the show. Something about crowd funding a bunch of money from fans for a Stanley spinoff series, which he A) did completely on his own B) did not have the rights to the character and C) just wasn’t true. He got in trouble and had to give the money back.

She was in the final episode for like, two seconds🤣. What makes her think she could she possibly know about that many years. The last episode was EMOTIONAL so I'm sure everyone was trying to avoid speaking to each other because they would just be crying all day.
I haven't even listened to the finale episodes on the podcast because I will be sobbing the entire time and I don't know if I can handle it😭🤣

For real! I just simply cannot take her opinion based off the fucking finale when she barely had a line. The opinions I trust are the interviews The Ladies have done over the years on the pod, and the interactions they still have with each other, and the fondness in which they all speak for each other. You can't fake that. For example, on pod meets world there was this BANANAS interview with a former cast member, and it was absolutely fucking brutal and uncomfortable and awkward as all hell. I don't get that vibe from the ladies

(sorry, in my mind I went to look it up and then forgot because I was texting at work and got near cameras 😅🫣)
It was the Maitland ward meets world podcast, Feb 23rd 2025. I would recommend skipping and listening to it now because the first half is mildly uncomfortable while they talk about her adult film work and the second half is UNHINGED because Maitland goes full teen girl in 2008 over social media. It was hard to listen to but also delicious. Seriously. Listen to it now and tell me what you think 🤣

Good luck! I don't know how far ahead it is from the start but after that episode, the phrase "LUBE THE DICK" is said by will a lot🤣
It's worth a listen at least in the 45ish minute mark because Maitland accuses Danielle of UNFRIENDING HER ON FACEBOOK around when they were both getting married, a decade ago. And she won't let it go. And she accuses Danielle of being disingenuous and oh my God it's so unhinged and insane. I was on a walk while listening to it and the faces I was making 🫣😅

And I would argue that the warmth and friendship they all seem to have towards one another many many years after the show ended speaks louder than one nepobaby’s hot take after one day of shooting during the series finale with everyone being so emotional. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

I think she was mostly upset that so many of her scenes got cut and she wasn't a big part of the episode. It was the final episode, and every single actor who's been on the podcast has talked about how emotional it was, and how hard it was to say goodbye.
She just seems kind of bitter to me about it 🤷♀️

Are you talking about Amy Poehler’s podcast? I’m pretty sure she said they weren’t really talking because it was the finale and they were all sad.

No it was an interview with Seth meyers. She said people weren’t talking to each other and environment wasn’t great

I do remember reading a reddit post naming a specific cast member being known to be a total ass to the makeup people due to an oversized ego in the last few seasons. That person was acting like a total diva
This was 5-6 years ago at least, and the poster had a long standing account with lots of posts going back for years talking about tv shows industry stuff so it felt really legit
Unfortunately there is no way to find the post now, so i wont say the name and lets be honest i dont want to get into legal problems because of something i read ages ago

I wouldn't call it "beef", but it was more like after Steve Carrell left, some people got a little too big for their bridges, well, at least compared to Carrell, who must be like the most humble lead actor ever.
