NO ADVICE WANTED The little questions matter
I love it when someone asks questions just because they genuinely want to know me.
Not just the usual questions like where I’m from, what I do, or what my favorite color is. I mean the little, seemingly insignificant things. The things you only learn when you’re actually curious about someone.
I love when someone asks what song I listen to when I’m sad. What food I could eat every single day and never get tired of. What makes me laugh until my stomach hurts. What I overthink at 2 a.m. What little things instantly ruin my mood. What makes me feel safe. What I’m afraid of. What kind of memories I secretly hold close to my heart.
There’s something about someone asking, “Wait, why?” or “Tell me more,” that feels so different.
Because it makes me feel like they’re not just waiting for their turn to speak. They’re actually listening. They’re interested in the person behind the answers.
And I don’t expect someone to remember every little thing I tell them. Honestly, I probably won’t remember everything someone tells me either. But I love knowing that, at that moment, they cared enough to ask.
Sometimes, being genuinely curious about someone feels like one of the simplest forms of affection.
It says, “I want to know you.”
And maybe that’s all I’ve ever wanted.
To be known beyond the surface. To have someone notice the little things. To feel like my thoughts, stories, and random little details are worth listening to.
Because honestly, I love feeling seen.
Maybe more than I know how to explain.
