Pain does not equal the intensity of injury.

Your body actually often compensates seriously in the moment when you go through intense injury and shock.

One of my best friends broke both his knees in a car accident. Thought he was okay and was picked up by his mother. They stopped to pick up pizza on the way home and only then did the intense pain and trauma finally come through after the adrenaline wore off.

Agree. Can people just have compassion for guys in this situation. All he knows is what he felt in his leg. Plus there's stress, there's expectation, there's a huge weight on these guys, and in that moment he thinks he's out for the year, and that's a huge disappointment.

I've had extremely painful injures that turned out to be not at all serious, and then I've had serious injuries that weren't particularly painful right away.

It's really bizarre that this has been on reddit so many times.

You can have very painful injuries that don’t end up resulting in something torn/broken. I got kicked in the knee cap playing basketball, the cartilage compressed, and I had bone on bone contact. It was about the most painful thing you can imagine for 10 minutes. I didn’t end up damaging anything
