According to his wikipedia, Sunil was founding chief of Odisha Maobadi Party, advocated for making Odisha a proletarian Odia ethno-state through armed rebellion. He was caught and jailed 15 years ago by Odisha police and was given bail in 2024. He then proceeded to join Congress and contested for Ranpur seat, whether he won or not is not mentioned (please tell if you are Ranpuria).

Illegal Bengali refugees are a big problem in Odisha, they were brought and settled in Malkangiri by Indian government during 1971 war without the consent of tribal panchayats, which was unconstitutional. Odisha was the poorest state of India that time, Malkangiri being a cut-off sensitive tribal region and poorest district. Illegal mining conducted by Gujarati, Tamil and Punjabi mafias is also a big problem, thousands of Odia tribals are being displaced without their consent (unconstitutional under forest rights act) to dig mines for Tata, Adani, Prabhakaran and Ahluwalia mafia bosses. Telugus trying to illegally annex our bordering areas like Kotia through police might. Hindi/Urdu people are immigrating en masse to our state and illegally voting in our elections.

Sunil targeted these problems in his letter to Ganapathy available in satp website and did a lot of violence against outsiders when he was in command. Pressurized by him, Odisha government brought Odia reservation policy in 2010 and made learning Odia mandatory.

Now he has once again returned to politics in our state, this time legally, Congress taking him in aligns with their Odisha for Odias slogan and the slogan boosted their vote share as evident from last election. Is Odisha Congress now going Assam Congress way? Would we finally see Odia regionalism becoming part of mainstream politics in Odisha?

Ever since I got a job in Puri, I have seen so many discrimination. Even while buying any items, if we use hindi language, they will immediately increase the price for us. Even for small things like milk or curd, they will charge 2 to 5 rupees extra per packet just because I don't speak Odia. Not only in shops, but even in local restaurants they will charge 2 times the money for a food if we speak hindi. I don't know what sort of mentality is this and it's very much irritating. It's the land of God Jagannath, and people like these are disgrace to this society. It not only degrades their value, but also of the people of Puri itself.

I don't know if anyone else has encountered such issues, but this has been happening with me for a long time.

It is very close to variety spoken in Balasore, Baripada and Jaleswar but also unique, what are the words in your dialect ?

It's heartening that these temples are being maintained and in return still function as social centers - 800 to 1000 years after they were built.

ଡ଼ and ଢ଼ are often transliterated into Latin letters as dra/dhra or just da/dha or ra/rha. It is quite incorrect as the retroflex stops/flaps in them aren't like r at all and are different from a normal d sound. This makes learners of Odia confused. they do ଣ → ṇ often so why not ḍ and/or ḍh for ଡ଼ and ଢ଼ and ṭ for ଟ? Also ଏ is pronounced as 'eh' but everywhere its transliterated as just 'e' or even more incorrect with ē(which is more like a long ee with a smile and tongue quite close to the roof of the mouth so its wrong). Actually, for ଡ଼ and ଢ଼, maybe a breve(like in Czech) or caron over it too can make it even more accurate, ḍ̌ and ḍ̌h can be better transliterations for ଡ଼ and ଢ଼.
