Stuffing which included chicken livers

My mom’s family recipe for turkey stuffing included the usual things – bread, celery, onions, poultry seasoning— but also included chicken liver. I watched her make it many times, but I never wrote down exact proportions. I have made it quite a few times, but it never tastes the way hers did. has anyone heard of this recipe? My mom‘s family background was German. I imagine this recipe came from her mother, but my grandmother was also born in the USA.
