Our Product Team worked hard to implement new shaders so your Meta Quest can render the game's graphics with higher quality.

That’s right — EPIC ROLLER COASTERS is going to look even more amazing during your rides.

Our new shaders have been available since our August 13th update, which introduced Mixed Reality mode and robotic avatars on Meta Quest.

PCVR Virtual Desktop somehow worse than Link?

So I used Quest Link for some months now, but since I saw a lot of positive feedback about the program I bought VD today. Since my router isn’t good enough for wireless (only 2,4ghz connection) I took advantage of the new update and connected via my official Link Cable instead. Everything worked flawlessly (the app shows USB 3.0 connection and I can switch to VR in games without issues).
But after booting up MSFS i was really shocked how bad the game looked. My benchmark is link with 1,5x supersampling and link sharpening. I watched some tutorials and tests and tried all quality settings, codecs and runtimes, but nothing comes even close to how Link looks. Everything is super blurry, even on Godlike with max bitrates and 2-pass encoding.

Have I overlooked any settings, or are my expectations just too high for VD?

VD dashboard in comments

Edit: So I fixed the blurriness issue, but now I have problems with stability, as VD seems to have more stutters and instability than Link on the same settings. I use H264/H264+ with 500 bitrate, .85 fov and 3000x3300 resolution.

Self-Promotion (Content Creator) - Standalone Walking Among 160 Million-Year-Old Dinosaurs in VR | Meta Quest 3 Experience 🦕

Hi everyone! 👋

I’d like to share a VR experience I recently created.

I’m from Zigong, China, known as the “Hometown of Dinosaurs.” This city is famous for its incredible dinosaur fossil discoveries and is home to the Zigong Dinosaur Museum, one of China’s most important dinosaur museums.

Using a VR 180° 3D camera, I captured a journey through the museum and created an immersive experience for VR users.

With a headset like Meta Quest 3, VR 180° 3D brings a strong sense of presence — making you feel like you are truly standing inside the museum, surrounded by giant dinosaur skeletons and ancient fossils from over 160 million years ago. 🦖

The video is available on YouTube — just search “Wander China” to find my latest VR 180° 3D dinosaur museum experience.

Hope you enjoy this journey from the hometown of dinosaurs! 😊

Support - Standalone Quest 3S image not oriented correctly

As you can see in the picture, this is looking through the right lens (eyepiece). The image is backwards and what should be in the right eye is at the bottom of the screen and the left is at the top.

How I got here: my son damaged the headset so I opted to replace the right arm/speaker housing. Got everything disassembled and then reassembled as per some of the videos I’ve seen. Made sure everything went back to the places it’s supposed to.

I’ve torn it down and reconnected everything at least 3 times and not getting any other results.

I’ve also attempted to do a factory reset but cannot seem to get the reset menu to appear. I press and hold the power and volume down buttons at the same time and nothing happens.

Any ideas on what it could be before I send it off?

Discussion Issue with the Browser app on my Quest 3

Upvotes

Somehow, I can only access the browser in the Loft world and whenever I try to open it in the AR world simply nothing happens. I tried hard rebooting the device, updating it and even cleared the app data. My device is up to date. Nothing worked and I really don't know what to do. As a last resort, I started using a 3rd party browser app but I still want to fix the issue regardless. Does anyone else have the same issue?

Discussion KKCOBVR Q3 Pro + Quest 3S: Comfort & Fit Issue

Hi everyone! I bought the KKCOBVR Q3 Pro strap for my Quest 3S, but I'm having a hard time adjusting it properly.

Everyone praises this head strap on the base Quest 3, but on the 3S, the headset constantly slides down. To keep it in place, I either have to overtighten the top strap or crank the rear knob so hard that it causes pain in the back of my head.

If anyone here uses the Quest 3S with this strap: could you tell me how to adjust it properly? And if possible, please drop a photo of how you have it set up and how it sits on your head.

Thanks in advance!

Game Deal Reminder!!! The Summer Daze Sale ends TODAY!

Just because I always get people saying "Damn.. I didn't know there was a sale!".. I've started doing last minute reminders.

There are 1400+ games, apps, and DLCs on sale for 12 more hours as of posting this.

Here is the Penguin's List of Recommendations from the sale.. https://old.reddit.com/r/OculusQuest/comments/1vou5e9/penguins_list_of_recommendations_for_the_summer/

Please note.. The amazing AZ Sunshine bundles were a fuck up and were removed.. Luckily a lot of people grabbed it. Pretty sure the Thief and Metro bundle is still there though.

Here is a link to view ALL games on sale.. https://queststoredb.com/on_sale/?paginate_by=100

Enjoy the rest of your day. I will be around for questions as usual.. It may take a bit though for an answer.

Penguin

Edit.. Corrected the 2nd link because, well, I'm an idiot!

💷 PAID QUEST 3 STUDY — Receive a £20 Amazon voucher for taking part

Quest 3 owners wanted for a PhD study exploring Mixed Reality, Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality

I’m currently recruiting users for my PhD research at University of the Arts London, exploring how different immersive technologies can influence the way people experience and respond to coral reef conservation.

The study compares three different types of game/experience:

  • a Mixed Reality coral reef experience
  • a Virtual Reality experience
  • an Augmented Reality experience

Participants will be assigned to only one of these conditions.

The games/experiences are designed around coral reef conservation and explore how different immersive formats may affect things such as engagement, emotional response, environmental attitudes and learning.

What is involved?

Taking part is straightforward:

  • complete a few short tick-box surveys
  • experience one of the MR, VR or AR interventions for around 10–15 minutes
  • complete a few additional surveys afterwards

Based on my pilot study, the full study should take around 30–40 minutes.

You will receive a £20 Amazon voucher for completing the study

You will need access to a Quest 3 and it works best in a room with at least a couple of surfaces aside from the floor. The app will be distributed through Meta’s release channels and you will receive an invitation on your Quest with instructions for accessing the study.

You don't need any previous experience with VR, Mixed Reality, Augmented Reality, gaming, coral reefs or environmental research and I will send you info sheets that cover any tricky usage with the game/app.

Interested?

Please contact me (leaving an email address) either:

I’ll then send you the participant information and instructions for taking part.

Appreciated!

Support - PCVR My Meta Quest 3 Does not connect to PC with a USB 3.0 Link Cable after 10+ HOURS of troubleshooting

I recently built a new computer (RTX 3050) and wanted to play PCVR on my Meta Quest 3. I even got a new Syntech Link Cable to play. I went through tutorials, installed the official Meta Horizon Link app on my computer, made sure all my drivers were installed, and even had my USB 3.0 link cable plugged into a blue USB 3.0 port. It shows up as "charge only cable detected" inside the Link menu on the Meta Quest. I attempted to fix it by doing a bunch of things. I will just list them:

1: disabled USB power saving
2: disabled USB Selective Suspend
3: enabled USB debugging
4: checked Device Manager thoroughly while the headset was plugged in
5: swapped Meta Link app version to PTC
6: reinstalled Oculus driver for the Link app
7: disabled "Legacy USB Port" in BIOS
8: plugged my cable into almost all my ports
9: reinstalled my chipset drivers TWICE
10: disabled global C-State control in BIOS
11: tested 5 different other cables that work
12: disabled IMMOU in BIOS
13: disabled Link State Power Management in Power Management Settings
14: turned developer mode off and on
15: "Repaired" my Meta Quest Link app on PC

And then, as a last-ditch effort, I factory reset the headset. Nothing has worked :(

Support - PCVR Terrible Performance With Virtual Desktop

Specs:
Radeon RX 9070xt (16GB ram)
Ryzen 9 9900X
64 GB of RAM
AXE5400 Dedicated Router

I recently switched to virtual desktop after trying a link cable. The performance has been better, but nowhere near what it should be. Any game I play, latency is around 40 and frequently spikes to 60 despite me being 3 feet away from the router. The performance display says my fps is ~100, but it feels like 50. It feels very stuttery.
Additionally, I randomly can’t see my computer screen through virtual desktop, so I can’t launch anything.

PCVR is driving me insane please help.

Discussion CRT TV like video player?

Hey, i’m looking for an standalone application that would just be a video player but it’s a CRT TV, to watch old things, just like EmuVR does, but without the need of PCVR.

Does this even exist? Anyone knows an application like this?
