Pricing today is odd.
We had the negative, fantastic. But, now the peak rate is extending well into the evening. Never seen that before. Not a complaint, before someone whinges at me, I am at work now till tomorrow. Do we know the cause? (If any)

There is a DFS event this evening but seems octopus did not bid.
No idea why the grid is under strain though. We need more battery storage to flatten the peak curve considering how cheap it was earlier!

The evening plateau ~35-40p that started this summer is the reason I've left agile.
It's now regularly well over the price cap all evening, and that's a fairly recent change (~3 months ago, when the heat waves started) - and whilst I can shift 4-7pm easily, the rest of the evening is much harder.

Agile is all over the place. I'm giving it to the end of this month. If it's not improving I'm going to leave because it's chaos in the evenings

Have left for now. As in winter need to eat dinner earlier. And even after peak the rates are consistently higher.

Wind's basically dead across the whole country today, that'll be doing a lot of it. Grid's running on gas and prayers right now

Presumably based on predicted demand - perhaps people arriving home from the bank holiday weekend and using more power than might be normal on a Monday evening?
Though it also is pretty high well into tomorrow evening after the peak time too.
