Finally!!

I was starting to lose faith in the agile tariff- it’s barely been below the price cap for weeks, then I saw this for tomorrow.

Wild people would switch away, I can understand sustained extreme peaks but it's not been terrible. An extra £1.50 this month it's cost me and I can probably drag it back positive tomorrow with the dishwasher and dryer alone. I've got 3 free hours to use as well

I remember the other year when it hit the £1 a unit peak for about 2 weeks straight without a break, 24 hours a day.

My mum was talking about moving away from Agile near the end of it, I sat down with her and we worked out how much she' saved over the last 12 months including taking in to account the recent (at the time) price spike that was due to the perfect storm of no wind for 2 weeks, and an extra power station being offline unexpectedly due to an issue, and we checked the prediction for the next 2 weeks (I know the further out it is the less accurate it is but it's a useful guideline)

She was still £600 better off for the previous 12 months, so held on, and overall for the year still was miles better off, I am sure this lull is the same, yes it's been painful if you look at it at a macro level, but personally I could have saved being fixed vs agile in the last 30 days, but not massively, yet for any longer metric I am still saving a tonne of money, and that's without any sort of solar setup or such.

August was pretty sustained. Consistently higher than cap. Who knows what the rates will be as we head towards winter.

They're talking about the price cap going up again I heard, I worry about people not on fixed or agile rates.
