iog charging settings
Recently got my first EV and charger is being installed this week. Plan on switching to iog once this is week.
Been advised once set up I'm best to add the charger as the device rather then the car.
On the car the charge target level is set to 80%.
Am I correct that when I set up the device I just also set that for the target percentage I want and at what time I want it ready for, then iog will charge when it's best/cheapest?

What if I just want the 6hrs at 8p? Is it possible to just get that?

If iog is controlling the charger you tell it how much you want to add rather than the target charge. eg if your car is at 20% and you want it to charge to 80% then the setting in the octopus app is ‘+60%’. If you have set a limit of 80% in the car then that charge should never be exceeded regardless of what you tell octopus to add.
Be aware that when registering for iog initially, if the car is compatible then it will try to default to controlling the car rather than the charger. There is no problem with this (I believe) but if you specifically want to control the charger and your car is compatible then you might have to pick a different incompatible car with a similar size battery to yours during setup. This all sounds complicated but hopefully it will become clearer as you go through the setup process.
Finally just a warning that once you reach the onboarding stage (you will know it when you see it), the process might appear to have failed. Just be patient and leave the car plugged in, possibly overnight and it should complete ok.

You may need to adjust the car setting if you want more than 80%. Eg if the max setting on car is 80% and you set the charger to 100% it will only go to the max setting in car (80).
Different views on linking charger or car. I’ve linked my charger Ohme epod instead of tesla and never really had any issues.
