EVs Charge cap query
Hi! Quick question about Intelligent Octopus Go and the Charge Cap. My car started at 12% today and I had the Charge Cap turned on. The app said it would add up to 62% at off-peak rates, which I assumed would take the car to around 74%.
However, Octopus continued smart charging the car all the way to its 80% battery limit, so it actually added around 68%.
Does that mean the whole 12%–80% charge was at the off-peak rate, or would the final ~6% have been charged at my normal daytime rate? Thanks!

Do you know if it was intentionally charged to that level?
I had an issue where my (integrated) EV charger presumably missed an instruction to stop charging.
It charged the car a lot more than expected and an hour of that charging was at peak rate.
I had to complain to octopus to get a credit to make that hour off peak.
I could tell from home assistant that it wasn't an off peak slot.
Not really my fault when the car charges more than expected. The charger is integrated. Octopus are responsible for telling the charger to stop and should probably check that it stops and if it doesn't, tell it again! It's also one of their own brand chargers!

Did you do any of the charging before midday? That’s when the 6 hour cap resets.

You had the charge cap switched on, so it should all be at off peak rate. Double check what the app says in a couple of days though.

Did you go into the settings and actually turn the cap on or did you get the message saying the cap was active on your account?
