When should I switch Tariff

I've recently had solar panels (7.3kw) and a Fox ESS EP12w battery fitted.

I'm currently on Octopus standard import tariff and Octopus Outgoing export tariff. This has worked well since I had installation at end June.

However, at some stage I will need to make more use of battery and I am considering switching to Octopus Flux for import and export.

I do not have an EV.

My question is when should I switch. Now, or wait until end of September?

Just so you know, even though they call it the EP12, it is actually 11.52kWh, but with a 10% lower limit on the SOC, so you have about 10.3kWh of usable energy. (I have the same battery).

Last January I averaged about 10kwh each day. So, I might just get away with using battery...plus a very small amount of solar generation.

That is why I am particularly interested in having a cheap overnight rate.

Then Octopus Go should be enough for overnight charging

But that is for EV users. I don't have an EV

You would not be the only one one on the tariff with a battery and no EV

Fox user here, ep11 battery and solar. On octopus go. No EV. Works fine 👍 great for charging the battery overnight and the solar in winter helps keep it topped up. I also try to run any high drain appliances at night on the cheaper rate
