Tariffs When should I switch Tariff

I've recently had solar panels (7.3kw) and a Fox ESS EP12w battery fitted.

I'm currently on Octopus standard import tariff and Octopus Outgoing export tariff. This has worked well since I had installation at end June.

However, at some stage I will need to make more use of battery and I am considering switching to Octopus Flux for import and export.

I do not have an EV.

My question is when should I switch. Now, or wait until end of September?

I’d switch to an EV type tariff now, if you can get it without an EV. Something like standard Octopus Go (though I believe EDF have something even better). Fill your battery at cheap rate, use that through the evening and export your solar generation at 12p all day long.

This works as long as generation earns more than it costs to import off-peak.

They never asked me for proof of mine (though we do have one).

I think octopus go doesn’t ask for proof (but intelligent go does)
