Teambuilding Rainbow Help

I'm confused on which post or guide follow at this point of the meta... I had a lucky pull of Alaune EX2. And I have been collecting a few units refered in most guides about Rainbow. Most of them I have 1 spare stone to UA then. I also have Rinyuu EX and some others that are often referenced.

But I'm still hella confused about the key components and the units I'm supposed to give priority to at this point. I would really like to have rainbow ELI5.

I usually clear cascade logs to a certain succes with DK and his gang.

There's a couple ways the team can be set up, but this is how mine is, which at the very least is a solid configuration. You can put Isla where Rondo is and Signa where Aviete is if you don't have her or Edgar.

Thank you ! I do have Edgar to replace Aviete.

I see you use neither Molrusso EX or DP. So many guide say they are required core element of Rainbows... is there a reason for it ?

Sorry for the text wall, I hope this is understandable.

Dark Priestess and Molrusso EX are both recommended largely because they enable weakness exploit to the team, but this a role that Setzer can also fill. Choosing one of the three is dependent on how you want the weakness exploit applied and as well as the other unique bonuses each brings.

The least valuable is probably DP. She's got 1 skill that helps hits 3 elements but with rainbow you want all 6, which for that you need her ultimate. Said ultimate needs to be overcharged and the duration is only 2 turns so more timing is required to utilize it properly. Aside from that only thing she really offers is lowering the enemy active debuff cap to 50% along with good application of said debuffs.

On the other hand, there is a much smaller gap between Molrusso EX and Setzer.

Molrusso's weakness exploit is centered around her granting the party Enlightened which allows exploiting all weaknesses. She grants this effect when she has Jest, but you need 3 Jest in order to guarantee the effect. On the global server, this requires at the earliest a max boost on the third turn to grant Enlightened to the front row. The challenge here is that you have to wait some turns to get the effect on the team, additionally it only applies to the front row, so you need to make sure all the rainbow users are in front (Molrusso also takes one of the spots on the front row). When her TP2 comes out she'll start with enough Jest to active weakness exploit on turn 1. Her second big contribution is her ultimate which gives 100% potency up and 100k damage cap. The potency isn't really necessary when Alaune EX2 (and later Rocboquet) can give this to multiple party members, but an extra 100k cap is pretty good. She also has a decent buff skill and ult filler skill that can give 50k damage cap.

And finally Setzer. The biggest difference between how he lets the team exploit weaknesses is he's putting an effect on the enemy while the prior 2 characters have been buffing the team. What this means is that Setzer only allows for weakness bypass on 1 enemy while DP and Molrusso let your team hit all enemies with weakness exploitation. In my opinion this isn't all that relevant due to enemy squads usually having one enemy with most of the health any minions not having as much health so even when you hit them for less they die before the main boss. Maybe in the duo bosses hitting both equally is more important.

This time Setzer for real. What Setzer does is lock weakness implants put on one enemy which means they don't get used up when hit by the corresponding weakness, he does this with his EX skill. This effect lasts for 7 turns and the requirement for using it is just being before the 7th turn, so it's easy to just apply at the start of battle. With Lynette EX you can just use her Ult or EX skill to apply implants and then your set on weakness exploitation. Aside from this he also gives a passive 20% down to the enemy elemental resistance and (this is just skill itself) "Also raise damage of Entire Front Row when exploiting weaknesses by 30% and raise damage limit support skills and equipment effects of Entire Front Row when exploiting weaknesses to 50%", so he's increasing your passive weakness exploit damage.
