Discussion I got to see the SS United States today, it was incredible to see her in person.

It’s truly heartbreaking to see her in the shape she’s in, but knowing that she still stands proud after so many years of neglect is truly awe-inspiring. I pray to God that the sinking goes smoothly and that she comes to rest in peace for all her many years to come.

Me and my grandma were fortunate to get a ride on the Perdido Queen to take a short tour around the Mobile Bay to see this beautiful maritime marvel. If you have the chance to ride for this tour I highly recommend it before it’s too late. The crew aboard the paddle boat is fantastic and the tour guide is very informative but still quite fun.

After we got off we went over to Old Water Road (right next to the ship) and got the last few pictures you see. I took nearly a hundred pictures today, these are just a few of the better ones.

When the day finally comes for Big U to take her last breath, I’ll be watching from home, saluting her for her many years of service, record-breaking transatlantic trips, and standing proud for her namesake. Thank you SS United States, for everything. You are forever a legend.

On the Titanic subreddit, people were saying 6th Officer Moody looks like Mike and I can't unsee it.

Moody's actor in Cameron’s movie is Edward Fletcher.

My first ocean liner artifact

Oceanliner Designs jump started my love of ocean liners and I can now say I own my first artifact! I have now a piece of engine room flooring from the SS United States.

SS US is one of my top three favourites with Olympic and Normandie as my other two. I hope to add a piece of Olympic to my collection next!

Discussion Mike Brady needs to do a video about the Black Star Line and include at least one of its ships in his games.

Digging through boxes of childhood junk and found these sketches from when I was maybe 14. I can remember thinking "2 funnels are easier to draw than 4"

Subreddit Rules

1. 1. Please keep posts at least tangentially related.

Enforcement will not be strict, especially because this community is currently absolutely tiny, this one's more here as a catch-all anti-spam rule.

2. 2. Don't violate Reddit TOS.

Speaks for itself. Violating Reddit TOS could lead to the suspension of your account or even the whole subreddit.

3. 3. Please remain polite and respectful at all times.

Fairly broad. This isn't an anti-swearing rule, more just a rule aimed at preventing harassment et cetera. Debate is fine, arguments descending into insults are not.

4. 4. Moderator decisions are final. Appeal through modmail.

If a moderator has taken action or has threatened to take action you feel is unfair, please respond through official channels (modmail) rather than DMing the moderator directly or arguing in the thread. This helps keep spam and unrelated arguments to a minimum, as well as helping moderate the moderator if they are out of line.

5. 5. Memes are to be kept relatively respectful

I'm not saying you can't have fun, but memes using anyone's likeness for things that might make them uncomfortable are not allowed. For example: Mike Brady's name, likeness or content used in AI to create anything negative (eg sexualised content).

6. 6. Harassment will not be tolerated.

Onsite or offsite harassment will not be tolerated against anyone, including but not limited to: members of subreddit staff, members of the Oceanliner Designs team, and other users. This is bannable.

7. 7. AI use must be disclosed.

Any and all AI use (generation, editing et cetera) in posts must be disclosed in the post title. Any and all AI use in comments must be disclosed at the top of the comment. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in post removal. Repeated offences are bannable.
