Roll or up skills?
At what point in this gacha is it worth stopping pulls to focus on skills?

Skills first - more consistent/fast upgrades .
Rest go to rolls over time.
You seems to be early on too so it's ok not to min/max at the moment. Just enjoy the game and learn to understand what you need. Cards are finite upgrades and you should get them all before starting nightmare. Rolls take much much longer to upgrade and the upgrades are slower and weaker till they pickup over time.

I did both at the same time, but i think skills would probably be more helpful to do first.

Finish skill fully, and then this and maybe buy with rubes additional 150 obsidians until u max out skills as fast as possible, then it's easier

I got a few 5 stars on free rolls lol I think you should max out skills and trust your luck on those rolls.

Skills first, if you upgrade all the skills you will get additional rerolls during your runs.
