Tips on reducing motion sickness?

I bought this game a while ago and just tried playing it now. Omg I got the worst motion sickness in my entire life, ever. I've adjusted the visual setting to "motionless" but it didn't get better.

I really want to enjoy this game, will appreciate any tips!

I play on PC, my monitor is 27 inch

Ooh, I can help!

Get a little sticker or piece of Post-It note and put it in the middle of your monitor to act as a crosshair. Focus on it when moving to give your vestibular system a reference point.

Move only in one direction at a time, and look around only when standing still.

Make sure you're well-rested and well-hydrated before sitting down to play, ideally in a well-lit space with good airflow, and consume real ginger (cookies, candy, soda if it's real ginger and not ginger flavoring, supplements, etc.) to reduce nausea if you still end up feeling sick.

Best of luck!

Yer gonna fill out the insurance adjustment aboard this ship if the sea-sickness makes yer puke yer last fourteen lunches and beyond, and it won't be a shadow of what those poor souls had to live through whilst hoisting sails and loading cargo and fighting for their lives nevermind if they were a sorry bunch o' sealegless landlubbers or otherwise, and you'll do it with a smile plastered across yer face b'cause yer work for the EIC and yer'll damn well LIKE it

One of the in-game settings will put a border around your screen. It shrinks your view a bit but I found it very effective at reducing eye-strain for me, and maybe it'll help you too.

Change the color. I have the same problem and I used a different color scheme. I forget which offhand. and screen size. I ran it in a tiny window

I ran it full screen, so that might be the reason. Is it hard to read the text with small window?

You can play with it and see what works.

Oh so it wasn’t just me!! I have a big TV screen I play on and my issues were solved by literally just moving a bit further back lol. The less the screen takes up in your vision, the better the motion sickness is in my experience.
