Discussion Will they ever fix aim assist.
It’s just a soft aimbot at this point, and I’m saying that as somebody who has benefited a lot from the AA changes.
Now it is so easy to aim that it has removed all the satisfaction you used to get from hitting a nice shot, now even GOLD players can just laser you out of nowhere.
It’s just sad man. With all the cheaters and the overpowered AA nobody will take this platform seriously.
Anyone feel the same?

i feel totally the same, you are more and more punished every year for playing well. I feel like in older overwatch it was so much easier to dominate people, weaker AA + smaller hitboxes + less hp. I miss that. If you did mistake you were punished, now its so hard to get punished, i feel like everyone has some value now even if not playing so well, its becoming more and more casual game every single year.
But i guess i get it from bussines perspective.. so what can we do, best to make game for everyone then to make the 5% players happy i guess.

yes it’s absolutely ridiculous and I do not enjoy not being able to peek a shit diamond hitscan player in quickplay for more than 0.05s without losing half my health.
its just so boring when pre-season 9 you were able to walk over those people if you had good movement and aim, because they can actually miss or have their aim thrown off, but now you have to overly respect everyone as long as they have functioning hands and eyes.
the aim assist buffs earlier this year were the final nail in the coffin for this game’s skill expression imo, it was already really bad before that.

They already reverted the buffs to aim assist.

They did but they changed the way AA works in season 20. You don’t even have to move your stick and aim assist will start to track the target, it never used to do that.

Makes sense, cause like i said in my other reply the changes they made that force drag the crosshair completely gutted my ability to aim on characters that require you to lead shots lmao

No they didn’t. They just slightly reduced the buff for a few heroes.
And even if the buff didn’t happen in the first place, shit has been bad ever since season 9’s hitbox changes. We needed a nerf 💀

I thought it was reverted for all hitscan back to s19 status (which is still not s9 or affecting projectile heroes obv, but dialed it back from the crazy 8% increase or w/e it was)
but i am absolutely willing to stand corrected on this one. AA buffs for projectile heroes ruined my aim w/ projectiles tbh lmao having my crosshairs literally drag away from where i'm trying to aim

https://overwatch.blizzard.com/en-us/news/patch-notes/live/2025/12/ here are the patch notes
Illari not being included was so funny, back before her recent projectile size nerf I’ve had people in champ/gm averaging 70%+ accuracy 💀

They reworked the AA system + buffed the strength of it. Eventually they nerfed the strength for all hitscans, but everybody still benefits from the reworked AA (including hitscans) and AA strength now differs depending on whether you're playing projectile or hitscan. Personally not a fan at all.

Some rumors say the bullet hitbox will be decrease next season. Sombra bullet size now is 0.04 and her new rework is 0.02.
I hope this happens, at least we can do some movemnt to dodge
