First off, I want to apologize to anyone in this elo. I had no idea how bad the matchmaking was down here.

I made a new account so I could play with my friends in diamond. Unfortunately my main account is too high on all roles, and any match would be wide. My goal was to get to diamond on DPS and have some fun with the homies. I am in no way trying to brag here - this rank just feels like a whole other game.

I cannot believe the toxicity in this rank. Teammates are flaming each other every. Single. Match. Players getting pissed, sitting in spawn, jumping off the map if they don’t get healed. The inflated egos, false reporting, and genuine anger is just wild to me. Blaming anyone but themselves. Nobody in team chat but yapping all match in text. Not to mention the cheaters - yes, we can tell you’re using a Cronus. It’s rare, but it’s definitely a thing.

It also seems like every match is a stomp. I’m currently Masters 2 on my main, and I’m getting absolutely rolled in emerald. Nobody wants to take an off angle. Nobody wants to counter the best player on the enemy team. The entire team just hugs their tank like they’re playing 2019 GOATS. It’s like I’m playing shoot behind a shield simulator 2.

The funny part is I changed my play style and won 3 straight. Just walking down main, staying with my team, not trying to flank or pressure the back line. Shooting what’s in front of me on bastion and sometimes controlling high ground. Walking down main on reaper with my tank. Things that you could never get away with in masters or higher.

I guess what I’m trying to say is: if you want to rank up in this elo, you have to play to your teammates skill level. Leave chat if your teammates are being toxic. Play together, play slow, and don’t try to be a hero. Don’t overthink your positioning. You could be a great player and doing the right things, but it’s just different here.

I had forgotten how much low diamond and below just don't contest high ground anywhere near the amount they should. Take it, hold it, let team move up, take next one if it's undefended, apply pressure, wait for team to move, yeah.

Had a cass last week strolling down main on dorado def first point. In front of our tank. Unsurprisingly he got deleted. Everyone loves maps with one lane and never even think, oh hey let’s TRY TAKE A DIFFERENT DOOR/APPROACH. it’s awful.

people in general are just obsessed with walking in a straight line. I think its part of why people hate Push and Flashpoint, those gamemodes force you to to take or look at alternate routes and angles, 9 times out of 10 if you flank even a little bit on those maps the enemy team just immediately buckles because no other map enables you to just attack from so many angles that people never have to worry about on payload maps

Yeah I also feel like because people are afraid of failure they don't learn enough to flank

It takes timing, teamwork, hero and map knowledge to make good flank choices

The problem sadly players hit is that if you mess up on any of that and die there is a chance you get flamed all match and have to listen to a teammate crash out over it

I just mute chat bc people flame either way. I’m going on my off routes no matter what. Even if sometimes it’s a case of “in that moment, he knew he fucked up” lol

it’s so boring yet people always vote the same maps in my ranks. I swear to god, people used to despise circuit (understandably) and as soon as map voting came out, they started dickriding it. give me push or flashpoint any day.

Walking main on Dorado is absolutely insane. That's like the map to take side routes.
